Ben
whereas bellamy`s bad boy antics seem to have been relegated
as he seems determined to prove himself worthy of the badge
& the trust placed in him, i`m more concerned by pennant..
i don`t think he`s a poor choice talentwise
arsene wenger realised pennant`s potential
& although he chose the wrong club to manage
he`s a good judge of ability
no, it`s jermaines lack of self control that concerns
& his disrespect of himself reflects on his colleagues & club
he might have fitted in well in `70s football
but if he can`t keep his problems off the field & out of the club
i can only see his purchase being a mistake
if something looks too good to be true..it usually is
prove me wrong jermaine

People seem to forget that Pennant is still only 23. Ok so he has done some stupid things when he was younger, but then again who hasn't. I think his potential os undoubted and that's the most important thing. I firmly believe that Rafa can calm down a player who is a bit wild, but I know he can't instill talent in to a player where there is none.
I personally think that Rafa will be more than happy to get Pennant and will feel the same.
I have a good feeling about this one.
I am in 2 minds about this...I want him for 5/6 million, but i am worried by his problems. Everyone grows up though eventually don't they?:shake:
I feel as though we need a right wimger so i think we could go for it, although it seems a bit steep seen as duffy cost 5m. Although i think there is more to that deal ie. jose not wishing to sell any players to us as he sees us as a challange to him and not newcastler.

Wonder how Rafa is going to interview Pennant if he's in Switzerland?!

:D
I'd have thought he'd want to do the one-to-one thing he done with Bellamy, so he can try and judge his commitment etc.

I would have thought so as well. Maybe Pennant is flying over, or Rafa goes back.

The problem is, I can't think of a Premiership player who has done more stupid things than Pennant.
I think perhaps every other player in the Premierhsip has made fewer mistakes.
apparently rafa is still on merseyside
& leaves for switzerland today

yes i agree with you. there are people who jump gun on him too easily. who hasnt made a mistake or two in life? i have friends who were drug addicts and inmates, but they are now decent people who follow the words of God and live decent lives, people do change, i have seen it so many times. lets give him a chance eh.

I would say Bellamy has to be honest. I get the impression that he is at the right age to become more mature, the trouble is that once you get a reputation as being a bad boy people tend to try and catch you out. I'm sure plenty of lower profile players have done worse things - but once Pennant went to Arsenal for

Yes, he hasnt got much problem last season with the brums. I think he would be a good signing.
