Apologies for the Paul Tomkins naysayers, but here is his latest article on the Official Site. Interesting to a degree, some of the statistics are amazing, especially in regard to our past results.

It's an interesting one - the article seems to highlight what Rafa said early on - that to benefit the team Stevie had to focus his efforts. Thus although in the middle he does more himself maybe he does too much and makes it harder for others to influence the game. Either way I think the important thing is for us to get a player who gives us the option of playing Gerrard either right or centre depending on the game.

Can we start a campaign for LFC fans to constantly email the BBC with this over the next month. I'm not sure I can take another season of listening to more BS about it. Our defence was superb last season, often the ONLY way teams could score against us was with set pieces, you find me a team anywhere that doesn't concede from the occasional set play.

Statistics only ever tell part of the story but there was some interesting stuff in there, thanks for that Ian.

I don't think I agree with you on that one....

But, it is a very interesting statistic, it shows that last seasons team was excellent at winning games. In my opinion the only thing missing from last year team was the ability to beat the major players in the league, hopefully Rafa will change this!

The politest way to describe him is "polarising".

Personally, he makes my fcuking teeth itch.

I remember reading an absolute classic article about Nunez and Morientes that had me crying with laughter even then.

I think Paul would describe the aroma of Benitez's farts thus:

"The nicest and most beautiful smell in the world. Letting a Benitez fart enevelop you is akin to wrapping a warm, soft blanket around your shoulders, one that smells of freshly-laundered puppies and nice things like that"

Tompkins is generally very well regarded by Liverpool fans.

There is a very small minority led by Brendan, Duncan Oldham and Ryan that pillories and ridicules the man at every opportunity. Brendan is obviously new to this forums, so he is a bit toned down at the moment, but his dislike for the man is deplorable. It all started when Tompkins used to be a contributor at the old Koptalk site. When Oldham refused to pay, Tompkins left and Oldham started a personal vendetta against Paul. To appease its leader, Brendan and Ryan followed suit. This is just part of the story.
