Losing to Utd in the league
The club needs stability, something Jose doesnt seem to offer. He'll be off in the summer I reckon

I think what we're starting to see at Chelsea is what happened to Real Madrid 3-4 years ago. They've started going all out for the "Galactico" type signings and it's upset the balance of their team. You only have to look at how narrow their midfield is to see that they're struggling to fit them all in to their team. As has been said a million times "the best 11 players don't necessarily make the best team."
The Chavs will end the season without the CL, which they were going all out for, or the Prem and Mourinho will walk as will some of his players.
goes to show that money isnt everything.
It helps mind.
They want Sevilla's manager if you believe the rumours.
I would be very surprised if Jose is still their manager next season. It's really a big joke if they don't win the league when you consider how much money they have spent.

Just read Mourinho's scathing attack on his players on bbc website. Astonished that he's publicly criticised them; Rafa, Wenger and Ferguson would NEVER do that to their players.
Let's face it - they've been ordinary all season - and have been bailed out by Drogba's goals time and time again.

You're right, Dan. Money is helpful but only if it's used wisely to build a team and not thrown around like they have done.

Drogba has been a revelation for them and the only reason they are where they are in the league. If they didn't have him and were relying on Schevchenko for the goals they'd be up shit creek.

MY son asked me would Sheva do better if he was playing for us instead of them. I initially said "yes" but having thought about it a little more - I'm not so sure. At the moment it looks like he's never been a good player - a sort of Gary Birtles at Man Utd kinda thing.

I was soooo jealous of them when they signed Shevchenko. It's just not worked out for them though has it?!:haha: I don't think he'd have done any better for us. I just don't think he's up to the pace of the prem, a bit like Nando for us.

Its very simple, Sheva hasn't been the same player since that moment in Istanbul. He was superb that night I thought, his movement absolutely destroyed our back line on repeated occasions, but the way he looked at the gods when Dudek kept that chance out, and then following it with the lamest penalty I've ever seen, well, as I said, he hasn't been the same player since

I can see that you don't believe them Kaip :jaw:
I honestly think that if you look over the last few seasons ago at ourselves, Arsenal and Man United one of the biggest problems which stopped us challenging for the league at various points was the lack of a reliable enough keeper. The loss of Cech (and Cudicini) has been the biggest factor in Chelseas poor form imo, they could mask it a bit with Terry in the team as he is so good at clearing the ball out of the box. Without him they have found it impossible.
In retrospect it looks like the signings made in the summer were poor, but I get the impression that with a more solid base at the back at least Ballack and Kalou would have settled fairly easily into the team. A bit like with us until the defence starts performing the rest of Jose's team will always struggle.

They've managed to fuck things up somehow by adding 2 world class players, and changing the formation to accommodate them.
Sometimes less is more.
Still they've been unlucky with the injury to Cech. I think people now realise how massive he has been for them.

recon if they had off got Stevie the same would of happened.
too many round pegs filling square holes in midfield
Also maybe a bit of blackburn scenario here, a lot of the team bought in to win the PL, not from the PL and did it 1st and 2nd year trotting. 3rd year not arsed, want the CL
and last one - Gallas swap for Cole very bad deal IMO

yup, you look at real and their team is so unbalanced, and lacking in real depth. Chavs have lost out in the Cole deal, have little cover at the back amd who they have once Terry is out really isnt quality.
Midfield looks unbalanced, ballck and Essien as wingers/wide midfielders? Yes Drogba is playing well (****) but Shev and Kalou look poor. If Drogba got injured they really would be fucked.
I think Maureen will stay but there will be a lot of deadwood sold off in the summer (Ferria/Boularouhz/Sheva/Kalou/SWP/Robben/Geremi) and a new lot brought in. I cant see Maureen pandering to Roman's wish list again.

Something I picked up on Football First last night watchin' the Chav game is that they've now dropped 12 points this season from a winning position. Droba apart they've been nothing special this season.

Although he's a class above Morientes, Shevchenko is having a lot of the same problems as Nando did when he came to us.
Sometimes it's just not possible for a 30 year old to adapt mentally or physically to the English game. The extra pace and aggression is just too much. Getting kicked up and down the pitch by a team like Bolton - and having the referees let it happen - is an unpalatable experience for someone whose abilities are now starting their descent down the other side of the bell curve.
Makes it even more infuriating when you think of how we've managed to mess up our chances. Chelsea, as predicted, are there for the taking. We've just not taken advantage of the situation.
The summer dealings always looked suspect, Sheva/Ballack both past their best and out for pay day. Gallas/Cole deal was madness.

And another 2 pts dropped against Villa. The gap between us and them is down to 8 Pts :)

Is it fair to say that Manure are winning the league cause Terry, Cech, and Shev and Ballack going around like traffic wardens?
If Manure lost VDSaar,Scholes,Ferdinand and Vidic and Saha were off form do you think they would be top of the league for me would they hell.......

That argument is a bit pish when you apply it to a club who have spent the equivelant of Burundi's* GDP on players in the last 4 years.
* 799 million dollars :D

As you said Spud they have spent so much money and end up looking like a pub team on a sunday morning short of players
You'd have to laugh at it, as Jose said in his interview just there they are going into there next match with no recognised centre halfs :haha: :haha:
I don't think Maureen would have played Drogba or Carvalho in the cup game anyway. Both of them got booked because they wanted it. Now they will miss a cup game instead of a PL game.

I think they just need a player who can head the ball out of the box and is already adapted to the PL. Bouhlaruz looked an excellent player before he came but he is a/ not dominant in the air and b/ has failed to adapt to the pace of our game. Also whoever comes in will know that they will long term be second choice to Terry, so I can't see many really top players coming in, particularly during January.
