What are your thoughts & preferrences on a 1st 11?
depending upon all being fit
& whether were on the attack or counter -attack
some 'possibilities'

--------------------Reina--------------------

--Finnan-----Hyppia-------Carragher---Aurelio

--Pennant---Gerrard-------Alonso------Gonzales

--------------Crouch-----Bellamy--------------

or

--------------------Reina----------------------

-----------Finnan--Carragher--Aurelio-----------

-------------------Sissoko-------------------

--Pennant----Gerrard-----Alonso------Gonzales

---------------Kuyt------- Bellamy-------------

-------------------------------------------------

Who knows what it will be?!?!!?

We've still got to sign a striker. It could be Kuyt, it could be someone else. We'll play 4-4-2 I suspect in most games. But realistically, you could have either of the teams you mentioned. Look at these two team, both could be first 11's, sow hich of these two is the best????

...........................Reina
Finnan.......Carra.......Hyppia............Risse
Luis Garcia......Gerrard........Alonso......Kewell
...............Crouch.......Fowler

OR

............................Reina
Finnan.........Carra......Hyppia.......Aurelio
........................Sissoko
Pennant..............Gerrard..............Gonzales
...................Kuyt..........Bellamy

Possibilties, possibilities and more possibilities.

Let's not forget.....

Paletta
Agger
Kromkamp
Carson
Anderson
Pongo

The only one's seem certain of a place in the best 11 right now are Gerrard, Finnan, Carra and Reina. Even Alonso's face might not fit.

For me it would be...........

.................................................. Reina............................................. ..

......Finnan....................Carra............. .........Hyypia.................Aurelio......

................................................Si ssoko............................................. .

...Pennant...................Gerrard.............. .......Alonso.................Gonzalez....

.................................................. Kuyt.............................................. ..

Trying to utilise all of our best players, Kuyt there is an obvious question as to whether we get him, we could also replace him with Bellamy Crouch or Fowler.

Tricky one tbh

Hey 6sheep,

There was another thread here that asked to predict our starting lineup for the opening league game. Realized that with the addition of Paletta, Pennant, Bellamy, Gonzalez and Aurelio, it has opened up many more possibilities in terms of team selection and formation. This thread is very similiar in that respect.

4-4-2 or 4-3-2-1 seems to be the way to go for most, but don't be surprised if Rafa uses the three at the back formation more often this season.

:handshake: didn`t see that original post
i was wondering if a back 3 may be used this term
perhaps dropping sami when we do
when we are playing sides who sit back (11 behind the ball)
when we have more license to attack
i also wondered if we would see a player or players in a roaming role
seems that rafa views paletta & agger as in need of development
& not for the 1st team yet
