    Entertaining football or winning?

I watch football for entertainment myself.

This doesn't mean i want our team to lose 5-4 everyweek, you can win with style.

I think basically would you rather be like Arsenal or Chelsea? Forget the players and managers and any bias you might carry against them, what would you rather us be like?

Obviously United are in a fortunate position that they're doing both, but that is rare. So, do we start playing exciting football or do we start becoming a machine winning 1-0 each week, every week?

As long as we dont turn into Bolton i can cope with winning a bit ugly, whilst we have players like Gerard, Alonso, Garcia we aint never gonna be an ugly team to watch

Winning with style will come when you win consistently.

There are always exceptions to the rule. However the two most exciting PL games this season have both featured Chelsea so they are doing something right.

Winning consistently breeds confidence which in turn helps players relax and express themselves more. Thus you get style.

We did entertaining under Roy Evans and boring wins under Houllier. There are cases for both, but as Red Al says, winning breeds confidence, so winning wins my vote.
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

at the end of the day you get 3 points for a win. Nothing extra for entertainment. yeah it'd be great o play wonderful every time and win doing it. But it cant happen, even when Arsenal went a season without defeat they had some ugly games where they rode their luck.

As long as you are defensively solid then a platform can be built from there to start playing some entertaining stuff when ever possible.

I'd be happy if we could have aspects of both.

Boring 1-0 wins every game would do nicely.

Winning is entertainment for me. But if I could choose, I would want us to play more like Arsenal than Chelsea.

If entertainment is your thing, I'd suggest womens beach volleyball.

However, I'd rather win the premiership playing boring football, than struggle for CL qualification playing attractive football.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

About 30 in a league season would do me fine.

If you support Liverpool, then you surely get the most enjoyment out of seeing us win game after game. If that means playing relatively bland football then so be it, if it's entertaining stuff then all the better. Under GH we were often accused of being very boring, but that was only ever a problem for me when we weren't winning games and trophies. They were exciting times for a Liverpool fan whatever they were like for neutrals.
