In theory we do but I'm not too worried about teams like Pompey and Spurs. I don't really look at their results, we're better than them and that will show over a full season. I only really look at scum and chavs results, those are the ones we're chasing.

The reason I don't want pompey winning is because I want us to try and get as clear as possible from the chasing pack, so if we do loose a match we don't drop any places. If the score stays the same they are out of the picture.

I want the scum to lose because they are the scum and the same rationale applies to the bitters.

what about unrest amongst players, you gonna blame the rift going on between reo-cocker and pardrew on tevez, utter shite...

i don't care about last season, they were playing shite, on and of field problems, if it would have continued they would have gone down, they needed a change, and as pardrew was responsible for the last seasons success he must be responsible for thei lack of success now...

Just watching MOTD and listened to Curbishley after West Ham got stuffed at Reading.

If a team of mine got turned over that easily two weeks after beating Man United, I would be going mental and blast every player that turned out today.

His comments were very strange. Far too calm about a result like that.

I think West Ham are now in serious trouble.

I agree actually. It is pretty clear from Curbishleys comments that last seasons success went to the heads of the squad. To be honest they are a young team and in the long run a struggle might be good for them. A lot of their players need putting in their place and to get their heads down and to scrap out some results.

I like the "West Ham Legend" status!!

Dicks attacks Hammers' Reo-Coker
Nigel Reo-Coker and Julian Dicks
Dicks (right) is not the biggest fan of Reo-Coker

West Ham legend Julian Dicks has launched an attack on the performances of team captain Nigel Reo-Coker.

The Hammers' resounding 6-0 defeat at Reading on New Year's Day left them in the relegation zone and four points adrift of safety.

"I think there are certain players that really don't want to be at the club," Dicks told BBC Radio Five Live.

"Nigel Reo-Coker seems to have spat his dummy out. He's one person I'd get rid of and also Marlon Harewood."

606 DEBATE: Do you agree with Dicks?

Dicks added: "Certain players think they've got a God-given right to play but they haven't. They've got to earn that right to play at West Ham."

The former Upton Park defender said manager Alan Curbishley would have to make some bold decisions soon.

"He has to drop those players I've mentioned because they don't seem to care what happens to the club. At least if he brought in young kids from the reserves, they would give 110%," said Dicks.

"With Reo-Coker, it seems clubs have come in for him and West Ham have not allowed him to leave, so he's happy just to pick up his wages."

The 22-year-old captain has received hate mail from fans with some blaming him for the sacking of former manager Alan Pardew last month.
