I thought his old man was in a boat too? In a boat on his todd, trailing his son's boat?

I thought that too... but his old man trailed him in his boat also (A helicopter would need a hell of a lot of fuel to follow him!)

Sounds like a right toffy family though!

I'd say so,it's not easy leaving home at that age for such a long period or time.
Must have been very emotional for him. :handshake:

Where my wife works - quite a few of the players come in for one thing and another. Anyway one of the girls wrote to the club for an appearance by a player for a pick me up for the patients (and staff). Anyway - they only sent the fucking European Cup over in a metal box on wheels - with a couple of 'heavies' to look after it. :jaw:
So obviously - everybody got to hold 'it' (the real fucking deal) aloft and have their picture taken with Ol' Big Ears; my wife included.
Sadly - my son was in school - and the opportunity passed.:sigh:
My good friend Howie_lfc is using a bit of poetic licence.

Yeah so somewhere in our house are a couple of photo's with Mrs Howard_lfc with the European Cup - the real one !! :respect:

I should call you Shelley...the story as I heard it was that Mrs Howard had informed you that the big cup was on it's way to the ward....Howard jnr pleaded and I mean pleaded to be allowed a couple of hours out of his gruelling schedule to fulfill his life long ambition to touch the European Cup...."just say I have a dental appointment" is what I imagine the little mite would have said. But NO comes the reply from your good self..."your final exams are only a matter of years away!!" is probably what you said you heartless twat!!

as it happens one of the guys in work was in the local paper due to this story
this kids mum was having problems keeping in touch due to a dodgy bb connection and this bloke helped fix it

apparently his mum was very pleased as she used the broadband connection to check the weather for him :jaw:

now i`m not an expert or anything but if i was crossing the atlantic single handed i`d want something a bit more technical than me ma on dodgy broadband connection telling me wether a 50 ft wave was going to capsize
my fucking boat or not....
