My dream place is in Kirsty Gallachers thong !

Most disappointed to see she was expecting on Only Fools on Horses recently. I mean, good for her and all, having kids is a wonderful thing. But the fella who is the dad is one lucky chap. Is she still with that wasps rugby player - Sampson?

so if kuyt signs by the weekend i shouuld be treated as an 'insider' like people who say the got a text from a 'source' about something we all know anyway

Extraordinarily cynical mate, especially when virtually all of The Maestro's (formerly viennamaestro) info in the past has come off.

In fact he's probably KT's best (certainly the most overlooked/underrated) source of info.

My 2 cents

I question how many "insiders" there could be who would be able to get information (and share it) that wasn't in the media at all. Unless someone knows Rafa or Parry personally. one would expect that most of the information that could be genuine would be received from confirmation-style sources, ie. someone who works for the club doctor who can confirm a medical has been pencilled in, a temp at a law firm/agent's who handles some paperwork, a worker at a hotel LFC puts new players in etc. Those party to plans that are not yet in action (and therefore not in the media) would surely be few and far between.

I have no issue therefore with anyone passing on anything they have heard in good faith, whether it is already in the media or not, but then anyone who does so must be prepared to accept some questioning of what they say by others who don't know them. Ultimately, if they know their source is genuine, why should they really care if they are believed by 100% of people or not, as long as those who question them are unabusive.

Anyway, thanks very much for passing on what you heard Maestro, you seem to have a reputation for acting in good faith so it is more than appreciated, whether this actually goes through or not its good to hear people around the club are pretty hopeful that it will. I really hope it does like, I think Kuyt would be a tremendous success in English football :D

In fact he's probably KT's best (certainly the most overlooked/underrated) source of info.

Sorry, not like me to get involved but I also have to say that Maestro IMO is a respected poster with good inside info. If this site is really to carry on growing successfully the way it has been doing, then posters like Maestro should be encouraged to contribute any info they have as much as possible. Being cynical towards a posters info is not on, and again IMO would make us no better than KT, which many people here have came to escape from.

I'm sorry for rambling and I don't mean to have a go, and I sincerely mean no bad feeling to anyone here. Its just I enjoy the friendly team mentality that has been developing over here for the last week or so and would like to see this continue.

There seem to be very mixed messages coming on Kuyt. Many posters with good reputations and track records say its close and others with a similar track record say its a non runner. Things can change quickly in football but I wonder if any of the insider's are being deliberately feed dud information. I would consider Maestro a good source and the same for Johnny H. They cannot always be right but they both post in good faith, so dont shoot the messenger.

Thanks for the info.

There does seem to be a lot less "insider" information than when Ged was around. I think Rafa is very clever with his transfer dealings and the information he puts out. Someone seemed to always know who the 3 players Ged had earmarked for a position were, not so anymore. His only trick was that Zidane was after buying a house on Merseyside! :wall:

To be fair the assumed "lack of inside info" leaking out these days can only be a good thing for the club. Most of us love a bit of insider info but ultimately, if the club really are keeping things under wraps to such a great extent, then it only benefits the club....which, naturally, in turn benefits all of us!

That's how I've felt for a long time. There was always a weird contradiction on KT between congratulating our top brass on conducting transfer business out of the media's glare and nevertheless wanting to know what they were up to. It's like wanting lots of surprises for Christmas yet still wanting to peak in the wardrobe to see what you've got.

ANYWAY....

Really want us to sign Kuyt now, been thinking about it and one thing that is clear is that as well as his skills with the ball at his feet, he is also good in the air. With the purchase of Pennant yesterday and the earlier arrival of Gonzalez, along with with Kuyt and Crouchy to aim for, good quality, accurate crosses into the box could become a very fruitful exercise! Although dare I say it, I do think Crouch needs to improve with his head a little. Nothing too dramatic, just find more consistency in hitting the target and really making the keeper work with his headers on goal. :)

Sod the bench we'll have a 2nd XI which could compete with all but the top 6.

I hope Rafa can keep everyone happy. Having seen Robbie playing the Riqueleme role in pre-season I'm thinking, how can he not play 60 games?

Rafa has a new problem. Look at all the quality we have, how can we keep them happy?

Don't say never.

I'm proper excited about the season - Pennant and Bellamy should slot in relatively quickly, given they've plenty of EPL experience, thus allowing us to get a good start, which i think will be vital this year!

Did you see on the Offal today, apparently Rafa told Warnock that he was the backup LB as Aureilo was being considered more for the LW role (????? Kewell/SpeedyG/Aurelio/Riise!! No wonder we didn't got for Duff) .

Seriously sounds like we will be playing more 352 to me.

Sounds to me like The S*n are pissed off that we're on the way back to the glory days, and they don't like to see us getting the strikeforce that will get us there. I get the feeling that Kuyt has gone through a lot of thinking to leave Feyenoord, they're obviously a team he loves: only a great future with a club like Liverpool could have torn him away, there is NO WAY he would "play Russian Roulette with his career" (as Kompany put it when he turned them down) by accepting bench duty at that pile of shit.

He was quoting from the BBC Transfer Gossip column, which I saw myself just before coming on here. I thought it was very relevant to refer to that piece of disinformation as it shows that rag's continuing attitude towards us, as I pointed out in the post following his. I can't see anyone quoting from The S*n for positive reasons here - I imagine all references will be to point out their continuing disgustingness, and hopefully they'll also all be indirect quotes via another source.

HOWEVER, we shouldn't go jumping down the throats of anyone who may happen to refer more positively (and less indirectly) to the rag - there ARE some young Reds out there (I've encountered - and educated - a few down here in the South) who don't know the story and so naively buy it. The best step is to respectfully let them know why it's boycotted, point them in the direction of the HJC site etc.

As scully said, I got it from the BBC transfer gossip section. I've never been to their site or ever read their paper. However I thought that piece of 'information' or rumour was relevant to our discussion about Kuyt.

What's the blog got to do with it? That's been running just a couple of months. The issue that Liverpool fans, particularly those who live in Liverpool, have with that particular newspaper go back to 1989, as you well know.

It's copied and pasted from the BBC gossip section and THEY quoted them. Sorry have I commited a sin for posting a transfer rumour on a forum?

I read the BBC gossip section, saw the headline and thought it would interest us as we clearly are interested in Kuyt, copied and pasted it here. I realized it was from the *** and thought I'd censor it showing disgust at it.

Sorry for trying to spark debate about Chelski's possible interest in Kuyt.

suggests strongly that he & his agent have made plans other than us

just shows you can't read too much into players from overseas (lower profile ones) just because they've performed well in another league/an international tournement or they come with a rep as being the 'next big thing'.

Best to hold tongue until they've had a couple of months to settle either way.

Recent Spurs signings:

All brought in (fairly) chaeply, and all top quality players.

I think there is some credence in what he said; they've bought lots and bought generally very well.
