Ronaldo is target for Real

REAL Madrid are reported to be ready to test United's resolve in keeping Cristiano Ronaldo firmly at Old Trafford.
The Spanish giants are said to have tabled a £27m bid for the Portuguese star.
Neither United nor Real would comment on the report, which also claims that the Reds would want a near-world record of £47m to part company with the player they signed for £12m.

But it is understood that Madrid have held an emergency board meeting during their Christmas break, after ending the year with a 3-0 defeat by humble Recreativo de Huelva.
The club's hierarchy wants team rebuilding to start in the January transfer window, and it is believed president Roman Calderon has listed Ronaldo as his top target. Ronaldo's superb form over the festive period has put him into second place in the Actim Index.
He has 394 points in the official Premiership ratings system - just behind Chelsea striker Didier Drogba on 403.
The only flaw in any Real bid is that Ronaldo would be unable to play in the Champions League for Madrid - the club's priority as they lie five points behind domestic league leaders Sevilla.
The report comes the day after Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes reassured United fans that it would be "impossible" for the star to leave the Reds, such is the value that Sir Alex Ferguson puts on him.
But Mendes also revealed that during the summer he had "offered" Ronaldo's services to Madrid's arch-rivals Barcelona, who had turned the offer down as they were trying to land Thierry Henry from Arsenal.
