Hmmm had to read that twice, as my first reaction after one read was a knee jerk one.

After a second read, my opinion is that the only people who have to justify their decisions, are the girl's parents.

If the girl's quality of life is not affected, if it means that her carers can continue to give her that quality of life, and if those involved are happy with and can live with the decision, then who am I, or anyone else, to judge them on this. I'm sure there was a lot of heartache while these people struggled with deciding what to do.

I hope that the girl, for however long she lives, is surrounded by love and a strong family unit.

Apparently this will mean the girl can be looked after easily enough without prejudice to her quality of life. This is to be commended. I've been thinking about this and whilst I can see the benefits for the child I'm still very uncomfortable with the whole issue.

The girl has the menatlity of a 3 month old baby and this course of treatment will not affect any choice she may have in the future. It is difficult and I feel for the parents and the girl's siblings.

Very difficult issue.

Shes 4 foot something now and she would grow to 5"5 i think and therefore if shes smaller it will only take one person to carry her.

They can take her to places and give her a somewhat better life rather then been taller therefore it would take to to carry her or the parent will have to get helpers in. Also without growing she wont have to endure period pains etc......

The only thing I would be concerned with would be if there was a cure for this disability in the future (I realise it's a long long shot) however, if there was a cure then it wouldn't be much good to her if all this had been done to her.
