    Souness

As a manager he's been good for a laugh hasn't he

In 1997, Souness was signed by SL Benfica's new chairman Vale e Azevedo, who promised to return the club to its old glories. The Scottish manager brought several British players from the Premier League (defenders Steve Harkness and Gary Charles, midfielders Michael Thomas and Mark Pembridge and forwards Dean Saunders and Brian Deane), all of whom failed to excel. After two seasons without conquering any trophies, Souness was sacked and, with him, all of Benfica's British footballers (including the previously signed left-back Scott Minto).

Yeah lets all laugh at a Liverpool Legend sure.

It's amazing to think that he's been on the managerial merry-go-round for so long. Can't think of one success, I suppose Rangers, but he was at such a financial advantage it was almost a mismatch.
To think he's being tipped as Walter Smith's replacement at Scotland

****ing hell. Get off you're high ****ing horse. He was a legend for us as a player, as a manager we have had no affiliation to him (for the most part) and he has been a laughing stock. Now he's where he belongs, out of management. We can think back to his playing days rather than his managerial ones.

And a multi-millionaire from the numerous sackings, a financial success from a total failure at management, amazing.

Souness' main problem is his arrogance, thats not just from my outside opinion, but from someone else i know that worked at anfield at the time of Souness being manager, I have since heard numerous player make the same allegations. He needs to get over himself first before he can achieve anyting else as a manager.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

            * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Childhood hero when I was a kid, had pic taken with him outside Anfield. He was so courteous and quietly spoken... a proper legend.

This new breed of wannabe pundits like Richards, Dawson, Jenas and Carney are all absolutely ****ing appalling.

Souness would go in two footed and leave Death curled up in a ball.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I never saw Masch play but I did see Souness, Kenny’s description of him is bang on, elegant and classy when needed. Harder than anyone else if he wanted.

I was really upset when he went to Italy.
