17m! You must be joking, Jol must be laughing.
He's worth about 8/9m, maximum.
He'll be a good signing for them though, no doubt about that.

what's xabi worth, or momo for that matter, if carrick is worth
You reckon? I don't think he's up to gaffering their midfield, to be honest. He's a decent player but not much better than that and I'd have him valued at around
HG will be laughing, come to think of I am as well. I hope demento chucks the money around manu till the end of the deadline if this is anything to go by.
It reminds of the stuff you used to fanny about with in Champie i.e. atke over a rival club and dick about setting them back years.
Just having a quick gander at the zoo that is Red Cafe, and all hell is breaking loose. I fucking LOVE IT!

"hopefully he'll play better than alan smith....but for 17 million fucking pounds, i'm expecting xabi alonso type performances week in week out."
:D
:D :D
at least he knows who is best!!!!:D but he's still a manc so that makes him a complete and utter...:whatever::D
I actually think he's a very good player. But 17 million is another matter.
Now you can see why so many managers would rather buy overseas players.
Alonso for 10m.
Carrick for 17m.

Senna's a good player - in spain. Does he have enough about him to survive in the hurly burly of the prem lge? We'll see.
Carrick is a 'continuation' player (always ready to give/recieve the ball) but he's hardly the midfield presence they are lacking is he? And for
senna is a cracking player,he'll be perfect for the prem imo
good mf if it works out.
Oh no I hope they don't buy Senna. He is indeed a cracking player and he'd be a massive improvement on the dross they have in that position at the moment.
Still, a Carrick/Senna axis wouldn't be good enough to touch our midfield.
I think Carrick is exactly the sort of player they need. He will allow them to slot any other of their midfielders alongside him. I think that you always pay a premium buying from a rival and after last season Spurs have to be seen as a genuine threat to the top 4.
Man Utd needed to buy a player who was already adapted to the PL and being as the only two players who were better than him in the deep lying midfield role play for ourselves and Chelsea they just had to splash the cash. He is along way from being as good as Alonso or Makelelle but I think he will prove vital for them this season.

Well, I'm glad that United got Carrick...He's a good player but not one that I think will make a huge difference...I would have been genuinely worried if the Torres deal went through, because he would have given that front line a nice balance. But now that we know thats not going to happen, I feel real optimistic about our chances...

Yeah me too. It might be alone here but Senna reminds me of Makelele...a Makelele that can shoot the ball a bit better...
