Anybody else see the programme about him last night?

I thought it was very interesting, and while I knew the basics of the case and what he was doing, it's the first time I really saw what went on, and what I found staggering was the sheer numbers of victims and how he managed to get away with it for so long.

I only hope that checks are now in place for somebody not to be able to do this now. Truly shocking.

Its terrible to think that somebody like a doctor who everybody would trust without question to be able to do that for such a length of time.

I guess society has evolved to incorrectly believe that people are going to do the right thing because it is their professions. Because society has evolved this way, those checks that should be made, have not been made and it has had tragic consequences.

People like Harold Shopman, Ian Huntley and others have got through the cracks in the system and sadly they have ruined so may peoples lives.
