To be honest the whole idea of transfer fees flys in the face of the principles of European Law but sport has negotiated exceptions. I fully expect this rule to get another exception.

The reason the Bosman ruling happened was because the player had no contract and so the concept of transfer fees for these players was in fact farcical.

To make this a different discussion can I ask wether you think these regulation will be effective? I have to say I'm not sure, they seem to smack of compromise and can't see them making anyone happy.
