As that clever chappy Mr. Young recently said, how has this happened, were we all sleeping when the Corporations silently just took over things.
Some recent headlines from this week.
CEOs call for action against climate change
Of the current talks in Doha, meeting which started in 2001 for democratically elected government ministers I think there are 40 ministers and 200 CEO's
We move ever closer to a true definition of a fascist super state, authoritarian corporatism, warped collectivism fueled by fear of shadowy bogey men, individual rights must be given up for the good of the many, a form of cultural nationalism has swept the western world, one which has been carefully manufactured and is been gulped down with moronic glee.
The Stock Markets Rise and fall and we never see any of the benefits. Corporations dont give a flying fuck about the community, people, all they are about is the bottom line. Were ever is cheapest to produce, they produce, all your trendy apple gadgets ... cool and groovy right, right on company is that apple, made in Chinese slave labor shops .
There is such apathy around globe a form of global anesthetis.
But I suppose on the other hand the world is a much better place these days because we care about these issues and it is ironically for that reason that we can sometimes be forgiven to think the world is going down the shitter. When actually the truth of the matter is the world is a much better place, our standards of what is and what is not acceptable are actaully rising not falling, it just seems that way.
One thing is for sure, I nor any of you did not vote these companies into office. They do not represent me or my views or I hazard a guess yours and yet they have considerably more sway over the running of things than your average politician. But just like politicians ultimately its the people who give them there profit margins and I think its about time we all started to vote with are purchasing decisions.
That said my new Ipod Shuffle is the Nads ...... :handshake:
