Just been watching the Kaiserslautern game again on e-season & Craig scored twice. The replays clearly show his shot that hit the bar was a foot over the line. Ok his credited goal was offside but i`m wearing LFC supporter specs here ;) .Any way you look at it he has started very well & even against premiership & european sides he looks like he`ll score plenty (dodgy knees permitting)

Bellamy has netted two goals in the Reds' opening three pre-season matches and will be looking to add to his tally when Liverpool travel to Zurich to meet Grasshoppers this evening.

But it's the Welsh striker's work on the training field which has so far impressed his new manager as he sets about convincing Benitez he is worthy of a place once the competitive action gets underway.

"I knew what the player was like, but it's always different when you see the player every day," said the Reds' boss. "He is working really well, doing everything with a high tempo.

"Sometimes you need to say to him 'hey, try to control your energy. We have a long way to go'.

"But I am really pleased to see him training because he has ability, pace and passion.

"He is a player who has said before he is a Liverpool fan and you can see that he wants to play well, not for me or to impress me, but because he likes to do this."

Good start indeed, and he looks promising.

The true acid test though will come when he inevitably gets dropped follwing one or two bad performances, or is asked to play on the right wing.

I like him, and have high hopes for him, but his history for being a troublesome cnut EVERYWHERE he's been should not be ignored just because he's scored twice in pre-season.

Biscan looked a world beater in friendlies.

Ps. I think given an injury free season Bellamy will score 25+ this season (all comps)

Given that he's only got into double figures once in his career, I'd have to say that you're guess is optimistic at best...

I would agree though i'll stand by it. He's never had Alonso and Gerrard assisting him before. Given chances he'll score.

I don't doubt that. But he won't score 25+ mate.

maybe not 25 in the league, but 25 in all competitions, yes

I want that goal referred to the Dodgy Goal Panel, even if it was only friendly ;)

It isn't just his goals...

When I look at a striker, I like to look at one's overall contribution to the team (and hence my past support for Crouch, my criticism of Cisse).

I just have been VERY impressed by his overall level of play, not just his goals.

Its clear to me he is really determined to succeed here, though he might want to take it easy a bit (as Rafa commented the other day) as its only pre-season...

Very excited!
