I can't believe England doesn't have a better goalkeeper. He's woeful! Too bad Reina isn't English :)

Seems to be suffering this year, I just can't put my finger on it, but all is not well in the Spurs camp.

I thought Robinson prior to this year has been excellent for 2 years.

To think not long ago Robinson and Kirkland were considered top class prospects and many thought they’d battle it out for the England no.1 spot for a decade or more.

They’re both completely wank. Speaking of Kirkland, the poor bloke gets worse by the week.

Robinson is pathetic though. He’s one of the worst in the Prem for making ‘Hollywood saves.’

He has been poor this season and made lots of mistakes. Never ever thought I say this, but on current form David James should be England's No 1.

Thought he was great for a while a season or two back though to be fair.

Must’ve been the defences fault then when Robinson inexplicably fell like a sack of spuds and dived over Ronaldo’s cross to allow Scholes to score. He could’ve kicked it away.

He makes elementary mistakes almost every week. Garbage.

Dan he has made quite a few blunders this season and struggles on crosses. He is not in good form and Spurs fans I know are unhappy with him.

I don't think he is shit, just not having a good season.

Keepers make mistakes. Reina at times is no better.

Very hard job being a keeper especially with that ball flying around at all angles.

Dont think he's shite at all.

Totally agree. Over-rated pile of turd - would rather have David James, and that is saying something. Still he is not as shit as Kirkland.

How Foster and Kirkland are in the England squad ahead of James and Carson I'll never know.

And yes, for an international goalkeeper, Robinson is utter shite.

Reina is infinitely better than Robinson. Reina is more commanding, more decisive and his mistakes are much more few-and-far-between.

Robinson doesn’t look in great shape to me, either, whereas Reina is very fit, strong, quick and athletic. There’s no comparison.

Robinson's been shite since the World Cup. He had a couple of stinkers in the tournament and people started questioning whether he was actually any good or not.

His confidence is shot.

On current form David James is (worryingly) the best keeper in the country by some distance.

Foster looks good because he's got more to do than any other bugger. Give him a game in front of a half sensible defence and his concentration levels would (IMO) let him down.

Kirkland is better suited to the Championship.

Carson is in the same boat as Foster. Good shot stopper because he gets so much practice.

I was goin to start a thread on this yesterday. I used to think that Robinson was a decent keeper but now having seen more of him he appears to be worse than first thought. Some of the goals he concedes are woeful and he's also overweight IMHO.

England would do well to drop him and give some one like that lad Foster a go.

Fair enough Dan mate. I laugh when he fucks up for England too. That last one, the fresh air shot, had me howling out loud. I also hope Spain thrash us this week, to make McClaren look even more of a shit-house.

It reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally annoys me when I hear fans of other clubs saying to me “I can’t believe you continue with that fool Reina in goal when you’ve got the AMAZING Carson farmed out on-loan….”

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!

Do they not get it? If Reina played for Charlton he’d look like the best keeper in the world. Bar none. The test of a keepers mettle is how good he is after prolonged periods if inactivity – and Reina is top notch in that department.

Based on Carson’s displays for us so far, the same can’t be said of him.

spot on. Add Friedel and Jaskalainen in that department aswell. They are made to look alot better than they actaully are, by the amount of shots that they face each game.

Oh and Robinson is wank:handshake: Ive never been overly impressed by him.

I think Robinson was developing well until about halfway through last season. He started making mistakes on a semi-regular basis and seemed to loose some of his presence in the box after that. The world cup didn't help either.

To be honest I think that Friedel and Jaskalainen are both better keepers at the minute. I'm not as convinced as other people they only look good as they are behind shit defences. Both teams have decent defences. Neither are top class but they are very good. I think peoples opinion of Friedel is tarred by his time with us, but he has improved since moving and since being secure as a number one.

This is true, we may all laugh at him but he has had some great games this season, great shot stopper and makes unreal saves when he's on top form. Sadly his past wont be forgotten.

He's a decent shot-stopper. There are quite a few better keepers in the Premiership though. It's just that none of them are English.

didnt that lad elisha scott post something once of how robinson was at a medical for arsenal and wenger was there.
robinson took his shirt off and wenger told him to put it back on he'd seen enough.

carson and foster both look good prospects for england but youve had quite a few in last few years.
on current form james should be no.1
sad that.

Just becasue James is playing well at the moment means nothing i am afraid. He is not good enough has had many chances. We all know that he had and it is had now the potential to be up there with the very best but he doesnt have the mental strenght. put him in a big game and he goes to pieces. so James shouldnt be allowed near an england shirt. we know he isnt good enough we dont need to have a look to be proven right.

But I did think Robinson and Kirkland where going to be right up there. Krikland will never get there looked good when young but when playing for us did not make many saves.

Robinson looks like his confidence is going, carson not experienced enough foster the same so who should play?

not sure

Robinson is over-rated and indeed, overweight.

A sad state of affairs for british goalkeeping if he is considered to be the No 1.

IMO Carson isnt ready for the top spot but it wont be long before he is and i fully expect Robinson to be relegated to No 2 then.

I also think Robert Green is a good keeper that should be considered.
