New FIFA transfer rule

Just read this on the bbc (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/h/heart_of_midlothian/5233096.stm). I wonder if the new FIFA ruling that players in the third year of a four year contract can move to another club with the fee decided by a tribunal will have much effect. I guess with wages so high in the PL if the compensation is based on this then I doubt that many of our players will move out on it but I would think more might move to the PL using it.

And will show the marked difference between people who say that they're committed to staying at their boyhood club - Ashley Cole, and people who actually do stay at their club - Gerrard.

To be fair, any club with sense should get a player to sign a new contract after two years anyway.
