View Full Version : New nicknames please...

Ryan

Thinking caps on folks;

The two newboys; Pennant & Bellamy, need nicknames.

'Speedy' is average-enough to suffice for Gonzalez, but there's no way I'm going through a whole season with everybody referring to Bellamy as 'Bellers'.

Pennant's a trickier one altogethor, I can't think of him having any nicknames of note during his Arsenal or Brum days. So we can start our own, without fear of those cnuts claiming we 'stole' anything from them. 'Thick Chav Jailbird' doesn't count either.

I want it to be no more than two words per player, preferably one word. If anybody suggests 'Craigster' or 'Jermaine Man' though, I'll have them shot.

Suggestions...

see the thread on "Lazaros Christopoulos" for my suggestion on Bellamy.

Im just calling Pennant, Jerm.

Pennant: AnkleTag, Asbo, Jermaine Tennants

Bellamy: No-neck, Bell-end, Welsh Quasi

Gonzalez: Gonzo, Speedy.

All excellent suggestions Bren.

I can hear the Kop clamouring for "Bell-end to get in round the back" already.

Although I suspect Brendan may have pilfered it from somewhere.

I don't mind pilfering. You like it too, as most of your best lines are mine anyway.

I'm distraught Jamo.

I tried it t'other day, but apparently it's too big for the avatar settings on this site.

I've no idea how to reduce it, and I can't find a smaller picture. I don't even know the bird's name to go and find a similar-ish pic.

At a loose end. Any suggestions?

Back to the days of commenting on the colour of a player's skin eh?

Surely that would be Pinkish Plague and Brownish Plague. Not really got the same ring to it.

I find it offensive that you've only singled out the 'Pennant comment'

Surely if you're insinuating something, then the Bellamy comment is equally offensive?

I agree, i know it's a joke and when I first read it I laughed - if I thought it had crossed the line it would of been deleted straight away. As it is it has remained open, but it's fair to say that some people may find it offensive. If they do they can contact a mod and it will be deleted. That's the fairest way to deal with it.

love "Quasi". Very subtle. Think that one might stick. I don't know if anybody here watched much of the GOODIES years ago?... But everytime I see Bellamy I think of that episode where they're all dressed as rabbits and calling "Beeeelllaaaammmmyyyyyyyyyy!". Cracks me up. That said I still can't think of a good nickname.

As I'm from down under I don't really know what you fellas call the rest of the team but here's a few that we use.

Crouchy - "Timmy" from southpark. Looks like they were separated at birth.

Fowler - "Fish head Fowler". Don't take this the wrong way. The man is my idol. But he got bashed with the ugly stick when he was young.
