View Full Version : Supporting other English teams in Europe?
Do you?
I don't. Well, i'm apathetic towards Arsenal, but I could NEVER support Chavski/Mancscum in Europe.
Was having an argument with my dad and brother about it last night. They were saying that as they were an English team you should get behind them. My point is that I hate them with a passion week in week out, so why should that change just because they are playing a team from another country. They are not exactly representing England when they play in Europe, they are doing it for themselves.
The funniest part was my brother jumping up and cheering when the score came through saying Chelsea were losing :finger:
Anyway, over to you guys.....

Nah fuck them, let's have them out as earlier as possible. Don't want to play the English clubs that we get year in year out, and the sooner they're out the bigger the share of the TV money we get.
Agree with everything, supporting an English team against Johnny Foreigner for the pure fact that they're an English team is bollocks. How can you be expected to change your way of thinking after hoping Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal get smashed around in the Prem every week?
I think the attitude of supporting an English team is maybe found mostly in fans who support crap teams who continually languish in mediocrity. Can't imagine many fans of the other English teams in the CL were hoping we'd get through tonight.
Yep, want them all to lose always.
I never support other English teams in CL, I want to see them out as quick as possible.

If that happened every year though we would suffer as the co-efficient would plummet. We need them to get through a few rounds to keep our 4 places.

Aye, true :handshake:

But isn't Platini going to knock that on the head now anyway?

Nah he said that to get voted in, loads of poxy small countries gave them his vote on that basis but I can't see it being allowed to happen
Arsenal and thats it(seriously)

Hope that's the case, if there's only 3 places in future we're screwed :D

I hope they all get thrashed.
The main reason is that we get more money if they go out.
The only time I can see myself supporting Arsenal or Chavski in Europe is if they are up against the SCUM or Everton. Other than that I want them to get embarrassed.
If the SCUM play Everton I want Everton to win.

You'd better be right, I want #19 before my youthful good looks go down the swanny and I have to start paying attention to Clinique adverts.

Well it could happen in the qualifiers or if SCUM and the chavs got beaten in the group stages and dropped down into the UEFA.
I know, it's unlikely. But they are my conditions and I'm sticking to them :)

Hehe. Fair enough :handshake:

If the SCUM play Everton I want them both to lose, but so far I've been disappointed.

Perhap we could lobby Monsieur Platini to see if he can change the rules for this positive change to take place :handshake:
Hate them all - want them all to lose.

Some odds from TaffyPower.com for tonights manure game
United to park the bus in the Lille goalmouth 1/2
A noise to be heard from the crowd 66/1
Fungus to spit in the first five minutes - no odds - too easy.
Ronaldo to perform multiple step overs and look a twat - as above
An awe inspiring performance from the Red Devils - 250/1
Gary Neville to shag his ma up the shitter at half time - evens
Rooney to wear his Everton FC underpants - 5/4
I can't support other English teams in Europe even those that arn't Utd. I want those manc bastards in the next round because i trust us and us only to knock those flukey jammy manc twats out and i think we can over 2 legs - plus the nightmare scenario of possibly meeting them in the final thus landing me in hospital with stress in the weeks leading to it would be eliminated.

I just don't get why you would support Arsenal in Europe. As a red it just doesn't make sense to me.
If Arsenal do well in the CL then they get more cash and prestige. That means that come the summer they will have more cash to bring in better players who in turn will help them become a better side. They then finish above us as a result.
Imo Liverpool fans should not support any premiership side in europe, especially not any of the big clubs.

I dont want any of them to win anything European. The law states that we should be the last Englishside to win a European Trophy. I loved it when Arsenal and Middlesborough got snotted last year.

And equally as decent - Galatasary beating Arsenal on Pens in 2000 UEFA Cup Final.
Arsenal - 2 Euro finals this century = 2 losses, whereas we otoh create history! Love it.

I am quite happy to cheer for any one other than the english teams: Mancs, bitters, Chav's, etc

Yep, last season's CL final was one of the most enjoyable non-Liverpool matches I think I've seen.

Bought a Barca shirt especially for last season's CL final. Only mistake I made was not driving around North London after the match waving it out the window and tooting the horn.

Is this expression from Roger's Profanisaurus? :eyebrow:
I can't stand the thought of the others doing well - I would be physically sick if either chavski or the scum knocked us out.
As evidence of what I mean go back to 2005, we spent 3 days in Liverpool for the final and the homecoming parade, on the way back up to Dundee we stopped at the motorway services around Teabay.
As me and the missus walked into the food area this guy walked past with his two sons who were about 10 years old, one was wearing a Milan top the other a scum top.
I couldn't help it - as I walked past this guy I started saying things like 'losers' and 'we've won it 5 times' etc.
Needless to say the missus - never mind the guy and his two sons threw a bit of a loopy!
