Just got a feeling it'll be Bellamy and/or Fowler instead of Crouch. They have both been back in training for 6 weeks compared to Peter's 2 and a bit. For a competitive game I think he'll go for the fitter players from the start (the essential players such as Gerrard, Alonso, Carragher et al aside of course)

I expect Rafa to use a tried and tested lineup for this match saves Pennant and Bellamy, both who performed well in friendlies. Dont think Gonzales/Aurelio/Paletta will be used in such a game of importance, coz they are not ready yet.

Yeah, i'd go along with this. I think you're right about Pennant in for Sissoko though and possibly Fowler to start aswell.

I think it will definitely the team you suggest with Finnan at RB. I suspect that Pennant will come on second half, but we will start with as close to last seasons best team as possible.

I think Sissoko is a must for games like this. We ned to dominate in midfield and build a platform from there.

i'm not so sure if he's a "must" for this one really.

It's not like we're going to have to stop them attacking, or need someone to interrupt their potency - We'll have the ball for 90% of the game already.

Certainly away to Haifa, or Kiev or wherever the fcuk it is, he's a must.

But tomorrow night? Not so sure. That said, Rafa treats him like his first-born, so he prob will start.

Not sure Xabi will play given he's only just back from injury.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see zenden play on the left in place of gonzalez in the team at the top of the page.Same back 4 and forwards but

I think the danger is not treating them seriously. We need to dominate them and I think the best way to do that is to ensure we do have possession and they are not allowed to start to play or establish any rhythm.

If we get on top early I think we should sub Sissoko at half time, but I genuinely think it would be a mistake to not start him.

I think he'll go with this to stabalise the game for the first half by controlling possesion in the midfield.

Pennant & Bellamy will both come on in the second half with either Gonzalez or Fowler as his 3rd sub.
