    You really do have to

Take your hat off to both Scotland and Northern Ireland. Scotland may have lost in Italy, but for them to even be talking about this game, with regards to qualifying is fantastic.

And as for Northern Ireland, what can you say? For that side, who went HOURS without even scoring, to be TOP of their group (ahead of Sweden, Denmark and Spain, no less) halfway through thieir qualifying campaign is incredible. You cant fail to be impressed.

    Superb stuff

We've been awful of late, but tonight was a different story, especially in the 1st half. Very happy with the win.
Thats win wins on the trot. Not a bad run for any team. Granted the teams we've played haven't been great, but still.....

Fair play to Norn Iron, what a turnaround from a couple of years back
And to the Scots. They were in horrible trouble under Vogts, but have turned things around too.
Well, here we are in a room with two manky hookers and a racist dwarf. I think I'm heading home.

If N.Ireland qualify, Lawrie Sanchez will forever be a legend in that part of the world.

He's well on his way to legendary status! Qualification will make him a god.

The sad thing is, through no fault of their own, they can surely only go so far before their inferior ability (and no offence meant, but in comparison to Sweden, Denmark and Spain, NI ARE inferior) catches up with them.

I really hope they make it, that would be fantastic, same goes for the Scots, the Republic and of course, the embarrassingly woeful English side.

A major finals with 4 sides from the UK and Eire would be awesome.

Shame we appear to have lost the Welsh somewhere along the way

It shows the difference a manager can make. Sanchez is relatively young, passionate, and you can see how well organized the team are.

The tactics are simple but effective and play to our strengths. Set-pieces are well-drilled. It's not rocket science but if it were as simple as it looks, McIlroy's reign wouldn't have been so grim, and we wouldn't be turning over teams like Spain and England so readily.

Six games left, you never know, they are in a very strong position. If they can get a minimum of 7 points from their three remaining home matches, they could qualify.

It really would quite some achievement.

Yes well said DJS and AA.

Over here, we can't quite believe what is happening, we were a laughing stock only a few years ago and now we're making a name for ourselves.

I've only recently started to take a keen interest in the Northern Ireland team(and no not cos things are going well now)as the sectarian element from the fans has all but gone and it's now a joy to cheer the lads on.
Only half-time but we've given ourselves a chance that's for sure.

Ps Silverfox...you're a jealous aul fart.
