Mourinho: Blues seeding silly
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has branded UEFA's criteria to put his team among the Champions League second seeds as "silly".
However, the outspoken Portuguese boss insisted he was not attacking European football's governing body.
The Blues are behind Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League rankings for the coming season, despite winning the Premiership title for the past two seasons and getting to the semi-final of club football's top competition.
That has clearly been playing on Mourinho's mind, although he is more than happy to take on one of the big guns in the group stages.
"We are second seeds," said Mourinho. "There are four English teams in the competition and I don't remember when Liverpool were English champions.
"Manchester United were fours years ago, Arsenal three years ago but Chelsea were champions for two consecutive years.
"We are second seeds and that's silly but that is UEFA's criteria. I don't go against it, I just enjoy it because we will play some very good teams in the group stages.
"Barcelona, Real Madrid and possibly Milan and Inter are in the first pot so it's very enjoyable to have a big team."
Boohoo ya tit. We were EUROPEAN Champions in 2005 not to mention we have a history of success. 2 seasons of bought success doesn't make you one of the big boys.
I'd love to hammer nails into that cnut's eyeballs.

The seeding strangely goes on history, not money. Someone throw the Portugese wanker a biscuit.
It's great - Rafa and the team have really got under his skin, much more so than Arsenal and Man U have. I think it's obvious that he sees us as his biggest threat to their "3peat" attempt.

I think he has a point. However I think that as winners two years ago we have a good case, as do Arsenal for reaching the final last year. The team to miss out should be Man U.
If we fail to win the title or the CL (unless we make the final) we should not be first seeds next year.

The seeding is done on European performances and Chelsea have had no success there. We have, United have and Arsenal (as last year's finalists) kinda have. He wants to concentrate on winning it rather than moaning about it

How people have a genuine hatred for players - I don't for a second think you mean to enact the violent fantasies you write about.
