Does anyone think that he needs slapping about to bring him down to earth? He's a decent left back in a league full of them yet he behaves like he's a Nic Anelka.

I wouldn't mind his wife.

Fair comment, if you like your birds pikey she is as pikey as they get. However, it does not answer the question.

I've been wondering myself about who he thinks he is.

Hes a decent player but he is a left back. Its not a glamour position, its not a key position and its a position that other players can fill in at. In terms of players, a full back is at the bottom of the footballing chain in my opinion.

I think he has had his head fulled of crap from agents who are obviously looking to get their cash out of him. Footballing wise, he would be better off staying at Arsenal but it looks as though he wants to take the cash at Chelski.

He's better than "decent".

the lads so full of himself it is unbelievable. Granted he is a very good left, but to slate the team you play for in your book whilst still an employee is arrogant and unforgivable.

Let him rot in the reserves arsenal !

I just can't understand him to be honest. How can you shite on your club like he has so much?!

It's not like they are Everton ffs.

His head has been turned by the smell of money - this all started when he realised he was vastly underpaid in comparison to Sol Campbell, Henry, and Bergkamp et al.

I believe Arsenal then offered him a raise to something like £35k a week, which he and his agent thought was a piss take - hence their flirtation with Chelsea.

It makes sense that a young left back would would be paid a lot less than the club captain, a top class centre half (once) and a top class striker. There can't be too many full backs on more than 35k per week at his age.

There aren't many left backs who could justifiably be called the best in the world in that position knocking about though are there?

I think he behaved poorly but Arsenal I think judged the situation poorly, whcih is unusual for them.

That have Gael Clichy coming through and he is a good young player.

It wouldn't be too much of a loss if they took £20 million and had a young lad coming through or got a player like Gallas to fill the void.
