hello all. have been having a bit of a rest from football and posting on the internet as a new job has taken up all my time, but thought i'd get one serious post in on the new forum before we kick off tomorrow.

its been an interesting close season- on the pitch, off it and in cyberspace for liverpool fans in 2006.

When the world cup started, my main concern that none of our boys would get injured/ burnt out after a year of intense football for the reds.

luckily, FIFA have decided that the world cup is simply a revenue stream and not actually a contact sport and with none of our players getting beyond further than the last 8 they got back in time to at least get some rest.

closer to home, rafa and parry have done some excellent work in the transfer market imo- the obvious weaknesses in the squad have been addressed and we have have quality and variety in numbers.

it looks like we have one piece of outstanding transfer business to finalise- i'm sure the result tomorrow will help move that along- and although a tricky fixture, i fully expect us to get through over the 2 legs.

so what do i expect this season? a strong challenge for the title and with a bit of luck with injuries we can push chelsea all the way.

and in cyberspace? well, it seems that there a lot of familiar names and avatars moving over so hopefully all is not lost from the good things about the old community from KT

here's to 19

As long as we improve, I'm happy.

The fear factor is back with Liverpool now. No team will enjoy coming to Anfield and after our improvement on our travels last season teams wont be wanting to play us at their ground either.

The big difference for me this season is we now have a nasty streak up front in Bellamy. Too many times last season we gave the opposition defences too easy a ride in the fact that for their sizes Crouch, Nando and Cisse are physical strikers whereas now we already have Bellamy and with Kuyt hopefully soon to join on board we will ruffle some feathers.

Rafa is always wanting improvement and in every player that as been sold this season their replacement as in my opinion been better players so therefore making us a better squad

Viva la rafalution and hello all - 1st post and all that.

this season will be our best oppurtunity in a while to challenge for the title. any cup competitions we win are a result aswell

I think the REDS will challange for the title this coming season. Rafa is slowly building his own team by weading out the dead wood.
It's all about balance with him and I think we will have that this season.

Onwards and upwards.

Every day Rafa is in charge brings us closer to number 19. The team Rafa inherited was miles off challenging the Chavs. Not so anymore.

Spot on post mate.

I cant wait for tommorrow night, the world cup is nice to break the summer up a bit but you cant beat a proper European game at Anfield to start the season.

I feel that with a decent start this year we will challenge Chelsea, and Im genuinly excited about the prospect of playing with 2 genuine wingers for the first time in donkeys years.

We all know defensively we have been solid and in Central midfield we have 3 of the best around but we have lacked width arguably since Digger in the late eighties. I still feel we will struggle a little up front but we will be no worse than last year.

If we can get some points in the big 6 games we can win it and bring home 19
