Ah feck i'm nervous man about tonights games, even though we're not even playing.

I really, really, really want Roma to knock the Mancs out, i can't help but think they're destined for Anthens if they come through this tie.
I no they say this about every game but the 1st goal will be vital in this one. Roma get it...Utd are in big trouble as they'll have to attack, attack, attack thus leaving space in defence for Roma to counter attack and kill the tie off. Utd score and there back in pole position, confidence up and enough talent in the team to go on and get the 2nd,3rd goal and cruise into the semi's.

As for Valencia, Chelsea, i've a feeling we'll see Extra Time in this one, impossible to call a winner.

Yeah man, that would be my wish come 9.40 wednesday night.
Out of them 4 i'd have to put Valencia as the favourites to win it though :(
Lets just worry about these manc ****s getting knocked out first :haha:

I very nervous. I think I'll be very ill if the manc twats went thru to the semi's. Hopefully Roma do the business in Old Toilet.

I've been ill these last few weeks since the mere prospect of us meeting in the final came out in the last draw. An LFC vs Manc final would finish me off whatever the result - the stress during the match would be through so much strain and ...it's even..effect..ing me now as i write.....thi..................................... ........sssslgdf[ #y r[dk [' trf?GmaaaaNccccccccccccccccccccch..uuuunntssssssss sssss

I'm getting a sick feeling that both Utd and Chelsea will go through tonight - i'd be fucking gutted if at least one of them didn't go out. I need someone to renew my confidence in Valencia and Roma

I reckon Utd(although previous records in europe show otherwise) will go all out and batter Roma 2 or 3 Nil, no scholes is a bonus but I think they will still be a bit to strong, an early goal and Rome will fold IMO

Chelsea have the tougher game but I reckon it will be a boring, scrappy match that chelsea will nick with a stuffy deflection in the last 10mins.

I'd be estatic if both teams got knocked out, but I just don't think it will happen, please god make it happen :D

If only one team were to go through - who would you prefer Chelsea or Utd?

spud_gun
10-04-07, 01:15 PM
Don't be too sure about the scum battering Roma tonight. Scholes is out as is Saha.

Given the choice i'd much rather the Chavs went through.

Couldn't stand it if the Scum won the european cup again

I can see the Mancs going through. Roma aren't that good at the end of the day. Chelski to go out in extra time.

Man U 2 Roma 0
Valencia 2 Chelsea 1 AET

The_weatherman
10-04-07, 03:03 PM
Still, Roma are good at counter attacking and ManU are missing Vidic and Scholes plus Van Der Sar isn´t playing his best game. IMO Roma could easily surprise a few, Mancini can do magic as can Totti so you never know.

I wouldn´t write off Valencia either, they have a good team and a big squad and with players like Silva and Villa they look like being capable of doing the unexpected.

Saying that I put some change on Chelsea and Roma to win so I can at least celebrate either way it goes :handshake:

I can't EVER remember being so pumped-up for non-LFC games. I'm edgy, tense and excited about tonight. The results will shape the rest of our tournament, the rest of our season virtually. I've had two bad sessions of rusty arse piss already today. Not pleasant.

I can barely hold on at work much long and I think I'm getting off in half an hour. I need a smoke.

I said at the time of the draw that United will go out and I stick by that. Roma are good enough to score against them tonight - they miss Vidic badly, and there are errors waiting to happen in Ferdinand and Brown. There's no Scholes, no Saha. Van Der Sar is having a nightmare. They scarcely deserved to beat a pitiful Lille side at OT so I can see Roma causing the vermin all kinds of problems on the break. Roma won 0-2 in Lyon to demonstrate what a fine counter-attacking side they can be.

No idea what'll happen between our potential opponents. Sticking my neck out I'll go 1-1 and extra-time.

Filth 1-2 Roma

Shaggy - Valencia to win 4-3 on pens, :haha: how on earth have you plucked that random score line out of thin air :haha: - i'd love it to happen, with the winning pen hitting the bar and bouncing "over/on the line"

How about this: In their entire CL campaign, Valencia have only conceded ONE goal at home this season.

As for Roma...well, Van Der Sar couldnt catch a cold at the moment, so that's an away goal sorted :D

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/6538695.stm

Police and Roma supporters have been involved in minor scuffles outside Old Trafford ahead of the Champions League match against Manchester United.

Greater Manchester Police are reported to have made several arrests after a confrontation in front of the ground.

The situation involved several dozen mainly Roma fans and was soon brought under control by officers with batons and police horses and dogs.

Almost 4,000 Roma fans are expected at the quarter-final second leg tie.

BBC sportsnews correspondent James Munro described the atmosphere outside Old Trafford as "tense and unpleasant".

Police dog units and mounted officers became involved with a series of scuffles with supporters close to the stadium's front entrance on Sir Matt Busby Way at about 1750 BST.

Fans are understood to have hurled bottles and missiles at police lines outside the ground. There are no reports of anybody being injured.

Police sources told the BBC that the "isolated" trouble - which involved fans of both teams - was contained within five minutes.

BBC radio reporter James Alexander said extra security was very much in evidence outside the stadium.

"There are lots of security personnel and extra police cars and vans around the stadium," he said.

"It has been classified as a Category C match which is the highest alert there is for a match at Old Trafford. It is on a par with a home match against Liverpool."

The visiting fans will be in the second tier of the East Stand, meaning they will be sat at the same end of the ground as United fans.

Roma's managing director Rosella Sensi earlier insisted their fans would behave impeccably.

Sensi said: "It is right to call for calm. But our fans know how to behave whether they are in Italy or abroad.

"It's a very important game for Roma but we are approaching it calmly."

The police match commander at Old Trafford is confident the match will pass off peacefully and that the Italian club's notorious fans will not travel.

Supt Charlie Coxon, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "History shows the ultras don't travel abroad.

"We have Italian police officers with us. If any of the known ultras do appear, they will see them.

"We have a full police operation at Manchester Airport to make sure everything is very safe. But we don't expect any of them to come."

The Independent Manchester United Supporters Association said trouble was not expected in the return match.

"We all need to make sure that there are no headlines in Manchester to wipe out the memory of those made by the Italian police last week in Rome," said IMUSA in a statement.

"The Roma fans at Old Trafford on Tuesday will be just like most of our fans who went to Rome last week and will be there only to watch the football."

Uefa is to investigate the trouble from the first leg, which could lead to disciplinary action for both United and Roma.

Johnny

"It has been classified as a Category C match which is the highest alert there is for a match at Old Trafford. It is on a par with a home match against Liverpool."

why are they going on about that... leave us out of it u kunts

In fairness, anyone with any football nous knows what the reference is - it's a huge local derby between two bitter rivals which clearly needs major police presence. No negative inference on us, in that respect.

But to the unknowing non-football fans, who will read this on the BBC thinking "those nasty Roma fans picking on those lovely Man United supporters", the inference will be that Liverpool fans are as out of control as the Roma Ultras. :shake:

Presumably it's not going on inside the stadium so the club will be quick to exonerate itself with one of those measured press conferences featuring some faceless PR man.

Valencia 1-1 Chelsea (Valencia win 4-3 on pens)

I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before, but can Mourinho just get over the fact that we knocked Chelsea out en route to Istanbul? He is still talking about this. Jesus Christ.

"We will fight right up until the very last moment," Mourinho said. "I haven't changed my philosophy, the Champions League is about details and the difference between success and failure can be very, very, very small.

"I use always two examples. When I won the Champions League with Porto, we scored one goal in the final minute and then a year later, with Chelsea, we lost a semi-final without conceding a goal.
