Manchester United is delighted to announce that it has agreed terms with Cristiano Ronaldo on a new five year contract keeping him at the club until at least June 2012.

I hate his guts too but to think we offered £4M for him....It got rejected and we were told to go away and come up with another offer.....before we had a chance to bid again Utd swooped in and captured him for £12M. Thommo and GH couldn't believe the speed and ruthlessness Utd's move - blow everyone else out of the water. There was similar dilly-dallying by us over Vidic (I hate his guts too). I just hope those days of 'umming and ahhing' by us are over with Hicks and Gillett.

Demento knew that both Vidic and Ronaldo were going to be players of the highest calibre hence why he over paid for both of them. Now both buys look like bargains of the century. At least GH managed to pull off the Diouf and Heskey transfers
