I'd love to see Bolton miss out because they're just a bunch of dirty feckers....and Everton too of course.

Not too fussed if Spurs make it or not, as they'll never be a threat to us.

Would like to see Pompey and Reading get there, just for a change. And Reading have been superb this season, plus Coppell's ok.

It'll probably be Spurs, Bolton and the bitters though...

Bolton, now with Sammy Lee, Pompey - to see how Harry would bung it (I mean wing it) in Europe & The Bitters *cough*

Can't complain at any Lancs clubs going through though, at the expense of any London club.

Odd statement that...

Did you support Everton in their brief CL campaign? Or will you be supporting United in Milan?

Who gives one whether they're northern, southern or whatever?

I don't support any other club, but that wasn't the question you asked.

All southern clubs should also be relegated.

As for in Europe, the quicker other clubs are knocked out, the better, but I would rather NW Clubs made it there over southern tw@ts.

I've noticed Del has a fervently parochial outlook at times.

Sweet Jesus, geography seems to be a pretty big deal to you. I prefer to judge things on their individual qualities rather than longitude and latitude, but each to their own like. :eyebrow:

Don't really care who's in the UEFA Cup. Whoever provides relief from the normal crap that is on TV on a Thursday night is fine by me. Thank god Newcastle and Blackburn won't be in it again.

Of course, it's where I was born & bred, Liverpool is a way of life, I wasn't given the choice of who to support or had the chance to select Liverpool when growing up etc.

Extrapolate that further, English National Team over Italy, or do you just also judge a national team on their individual qualities?

I am not sorry for being patriotic to the area where I was born.

And now this thread got personal and strayed OT, but each to their own like.

Portsmouth to beat the blueshite on Saturday and claim one spot. Reading and Spurs the other two. That would do it for me:rock:

That's not what I'm saying at all though. You're proud of where you're from, support England over Italy, yeah fine of course. Never argued against that. That's about expressing your cultural identity, everyone has pride in their roots.

What I find strange is that you always bang on about wanting London clubs in particular to go down and you now also say you want all southern clubs to be relegated. Who cares if they're from London, Cornwall, East Anglia or elsewhere? There is a big difference between being proud of where you are from and deciding geography is so important you can rank clubs in order of how much they deserve to go down by their distance from Lancashire. At some point you have to accept that places further afield are just different rather than inferior and worthy of scorn.

As for it being off topic well it's off on a bit of a tangent yes, but you can't deny you played your part in that. I'm not being personal at all, just discussing something you said which I found quite unusual, that's all.

Anyway, for me...

I want Bolton to do well now Sammy's the main man there, so that's one. Everton can fuck off, and Pompey's bell ringing drives me insane so they're out. Blackburn are hackers so I wouldn't fancy them to get European footy, which leaves Spurs and Reading to make up the 3. When all is said and done though I rarely pay the UEFA Cup any attention these days, I'm not even sure I could name all the teams that have won it since we did.

If Reading gets into Europe, they will probably be relegated next season. Squad is just not big enough to compete in both....

Having said that, I would love if the bitters get into Europe. Then they will probably be relegated next season.

The only club, out of the possibilities, that I want to see there is Reading. Couldnt be arsed if either Bolton, Everton, Spurs and Portsmouth make it as well.

I'm very Happy that Newcastle is out of Europe Again. Can they go the Intertoto route again?
