Very rarely get any inside goss, let's just say that local business has been involved in helping the deal .... and I may or may not have heard through a first hand contact :)

I had heard the 10 local businessmen story. Giovannis got businesses together and allegedly each was going to put in £50,000 and would basically part own the player. He would then make personal appearances etc. Is this what is actually happening?

From what I understand it nowhere near 10 businesses, even less than a handful
good player but wants a good kick up the arse.

well I hope you got it right mate. I go to Cardiff when I cannot get to Liverpool games and last season he was great to watch. He could seriously be the difference between mid table and the play offs this season. DJ has built up a good squad and Koumas would be the icing on the cake

So do I mate, never posted any goss before, so fingers crossed it doesn't backfire.
Think it's the best looking City squad for years. DJ has done wonders with very little. Hope the crowds return now.
Good to hear. Thanks Chewy.

That's good news for Cardiff, and Wales, if true.
Koumas could well be the difference between a top six spot and mid-table mediocrity, and as has been said Dave Jones has put together a decent little squad there for this season with some good experience in there too. It'd be good to see Cardiff become a success as the potential down there is huge.
Hope the deal goes through soon as he's been twiddling his thumbs for a few weeks now in the hope the clubs sort a deal. Do you know how much the deal is worth? From what I understand Cardiff offered £2m and WBA wanted £3m.

According to the BBC website WBA want £2m up front. However, Cardiff are only offering £1m up front and then a further £500,000 if they win promotion. If Cardiff stayed in the Premiership for two successive seasons they would have to pay a further £500,000.
This has got to be the most dragged out transfer saga this summer (even more than Kuyt's!!!). Apparently Koumas has paid a £100,000 in fines for refusing to go back to WBA.

Yeah, saw the note of the beeb today, I have it on pretty good authority that it was sorted, but the beeb implied otherwise. Guess time will tell.

It seems as if Cardiff have ended their interest in Koumas.

Seems pretty conclusive, maybe he's just trying to call their bluff?
The information came from somebody very very close to the deal.
Don't believe it's the local business that has let him down more likely 'external sources' as he quotes....
I hang my head in shame :(
Koumas has signed a new 3-year deal with West Brom. :miffed:
