Decent player - tidy in posession, but I don't see what extra he can bring to a side? Isn't physical, doesn't have a terrific engine or tackle, hasn't got an eye for goal..... Not that he's a bad player, just you need something extra to make it in the EPL and more importantly LFC.

I don see the point in a loan deal for nim. Wasn he at southampton last season, without impressing? The only one I can remember turning their LFC career around on loan was warnock. Potters best position is CM, and he allready behind SG, Momo, Xabi and Bolo, so it makes sense to let him go. Isn Peltier a CM as well?
I don know how long Potter has left on his contract, but that might play a part in decition to loan him out insteadof selling him. to be fair, david thompson was a far better player than darren potter. I think if a personality clash with houllier hadnt appeared, and injuries hadnt of took there toll he would have had an excellent liverpool career.Originally posted by red gComment

I think David Thompson has admitted that he took the piss and deserved to be moved on.... David Thompson has (at least) got an eye for a goal which is more than what Potter has. Tad harsh. I don't think he was quite good enough for us but he's a decent player and I reckon he's demonstrated that. He was excellent for Blackburn...even got an England call-up before injuries ruined his Rovers career. Since then he's struggled like, but he did well at Ewood Park.
