Peter Sellers - What a legend.
Peter Sellers - What a legend.
Absolutely, I think Spike Milligan would be in the running too and more recently, Steve Coogan :handshake:
Coogan? Good call. Give him another decade though...
Bill Hicks would be there or there abouts. Good call with peter sellers though

Bill Hicks would get my vote. The guy was an absolute legend.
Peter Sellers, Spike Milligan and Peter Cook would not be far behind.
Monty Python personnel would win funniest group.
have to say i never really got the whole bill hicks thing
in the world of stand up there are so many funnier than him
murphy,pryor etc etc
Eddie Izzard is very, very funny. I'd have him up there, along with Billy.

Stand-ups whose live videos have made me laugh to a near life-threatening degree:
Steve Martin
Eddie Murphy (the first one - "Ma shoe!", not the homophobic one)
Eddie Izzard
Peter Cook
John Cleese (and the Pythons)
Peter Sellers
Steve Coogan (the modern Peter Sellers)
Chris Morris (in a different kinda way)
Larry David
Good list, no Milligan?
Tommy Cooper would be up there for me, he was funny.

Tommy Cooper and Eric Morecambe are two of Britain's all-time funniest.

Amazed that no one has said George Carlin yet. The man is a legend, and doesn't get the credit he deserves this side of the Atlantic. I have to mention Billy Connolly also.

Cooper was a one off. Crap jokes, and predictable but still funny.
I've never laughed harder than at Billy Connolly, when they let me watch TV.
I've never cried as much while laughing, then when I saw this for the first time.http://www.michaeldvd.com.au/CoverArtUnverified/4949.jpg

I'm sure this thread has a restraining order out on that man. :shake:
Stand by Hicks but have just finished watching Al Murray's latest and its piss yourself funny. The Steve Martin McDonalds story is a modern classic, from a time before he started making shit film after shit film and I'm quite partial to Dylan Moran as well. Anyone mentioned Belushi or Ackroyd yet?
