View Full Version : Teams you quite like
Anfield Mole

From another thread in this forum we can deduce that the likes of Chelsea, Man U and Bolton are none too popular among the members of this forum. However, what other teams do you actually like?
I keep an eye on the likes of Crewe and Tranny Rovers where a lot of former Liverpool youth team players end up. I also look out for the results of Hibs, Barcelona and AEK Athens.
How about you?

There are none whose results can have any real effect on my mood, ie I actually care.
However, I do have a soft spot for Tranmere, Barca, Juve and Celtic.
I also support anyone playing United, Chelsea or Everton (apart from the obvious occasions when they are playing eachother, when I have to weigh up how useful a certain result is to Liverpool, before calculating my Hatred Index to come up with a "least worst" option.
I also support ANY foreign team facing English opposition in European competitions. Yes, you read that correctly.

But they did get to the Champions League Final twice in a row...which is rather good. Just not as good.

Real Sociedad, feel sorry for them since we got their best player and always look out for their results. Barnsley because they're my other half's team and they try and play good football.
Tranmere, Crewe, Aberdeen, Real Sociedad
As for other teams in the EPL, I like to see Man City and Spurs doing well, and based upon the football they played last season I took a fancy to Wigan too. Obviously when they play us, there is only one result that I hope and wish for, but I'd like the above teams to have decent seasons, and finish as high up the table as possible (as long as they are behind us)!
As well as the usual suspects I also really hate Pompey for some reason!

Carlisle United and Portland Timbers. Carlisle, because some of my family live in Cumbria and I go there whenever I travel to England, and Portland, because they are my local team and present my only real opportunity to see football in the flesh on a regular basis.

I cannot STAND Bayern Munich - they are the Chelsea of Germany, and no other Bundesliga club has a chance against their resources. My favourite German team is Hertha Berlin and I also have a soft spot for St.Pauli, because of their fans...I also have been forced to hate Ajax by 2 good mates of mine from Eindhoven - therefore, I also like PSV!!!

Brighton and Hove Albion - I live in Brighton now (from Wallasey)
Legia Warsaw (Poland) - Stayed in Poland for a month or two, and those boys are nuts.
I've also got a soft spot for West Ham for some reason as well, and although they're an awful team, I like Sheffield Wednesday because I saw them beat the Mancs 2-0 about 8 years ago.
Tranmere would be my second team, look out for Stoke City's results(yes stoke) as I was at uni in Stoke for 3 of the best years of my life so have a soft spot.

Atletico Madrid...family team. Aguero is looking very good for them.
Adelaide Utd...my local team
have a soft spot for West Ham, some family members in england are avid Hammers fans, so i developed a liking for them...didnt do themselves any harm in their Fa cup showing either:handshake: Great fans.
I dont really support any Italian teams...but if i had to name a side i follow more than any other it would be Roma and Napoli.
None come close to Liverpool though.
Always had a soft spot for Inter since they had the 3 Germans Matteus, Klinsmann and Brehme
And of course Olympiakos in Cyprus (not Greece) when they were managed by Ronnie Whelan
if sunderland were great fans they would fill the stadium but that hasnt been the case for some time now!:handshake:
the Sunderland fans organisations though are really genuine football fans and have helped many of the smaller teams which have faced financial problems in the last few years - collecting money and bringing supporters to games for York for example (and I believe they put on a friendly and had collections for Cambridge too).
As you might guess I have a soft spot for York (where I went to uni) and Cambridge (my hometown). I also like Norwich as it is my Mums team and I went to watch them a couple of times in my formative years and they played good football and the ground had a nice atmosphere.
