RAMOS IS HOT CITY TARGET
EXCLUSIVE
By Alan Nixon 26/05/2007

SPANISH super coach Juande Ramos is the shock name on Manchester City's wanted list - after he was snubbed by Chelsea.

Ramos, 52, is chasing the La Liga title with Sevilla and has just taken them to their second successive UEFA Cup triumph. But he is looking to come to England in the summer.

And sources close to the vastly-respected boss reveal he is prepared to speak to City if the former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra completes a takeover.

Ramos was sounded out about Chelsea, but then left in the dark after their FA Cup triumph threw Jose Mourinho a lifeline.

If he goes there he would obviously be viewing it as a stepping stone to a bigger job over here.

I think the City managers' job will be the hardest in the league next season. They have a very thin squad and the loss of Distin is a big blow, you have to think Barton is off too. Even with investment I can't see them being able to bring in an entire new team capable of doing much in the league.
