    Trezeguet signs new Juventus deal

    Trezeguet signs new Juventus deal

David Trezeguet has ended speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal as Thierry Henry's replacement by signing a new deal at Juventus.
The 29-year-old France striker has agreed a contract that will keep him in Turin until June 2011.

Trezeguet had been a reported target for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger after close friend Henry's £16m move to Barcelona from The Emirates.

He has scored 145 goals in seven seasons at Juventus.

Trezeguet opted to remain with Juve a year ago despite demotion for their role in the corruption scandal in Italy, and they have now returned to Serie A

A statement on the Juve website, juventus.it, said: "Juventus Football Club has extended David Trezeguet's contract until 30 June, 2011."

Juve's rebuilding towards their bid to regain the league title they were stripped of last year has already seen Claudio Ranieri appointed Didier Deschamps' successor as manager.

Former Chelsea midfielder Tiago has joined Italy striker Vincenzo Iaquinta and Empoli's Sergio Bernardo Almiron in arriving in Turin so far this summer.
