Was one of the best goals ive ever seen.

Not got a clip of it but I saw it on ssn this morning. it was a lovely chip from the edge of the box (might of just been inside actually) the copa America has had some class goals scored already. Can't wait for the final although i suspect it will be another late night/early morning kickoff.

Lucky swine. I worked from home for a good spell last year, for about 9 months. It was ace. Hard to motivate yourself though. :grr:

It was a nice chip and a lovely goal but we get to see goals like that every season. I don't know why they're always described as the 'best goal ever' because really they never are.

torres scored a couple like that in a youtube comp i saw but he scored the pair of them with a outside of his right foot chip which is much more difficult than what messi tried.
i think theres so much hubub about the goal because to chip the gk from where he did when he did is unique, not many players would have thought to try that, but it's no wonder goal

I agree, chipped goals are very over rated.
I disagree to a certain extent.
Some chips are alot easier to execute than putting the ball past a keeper. A chip like Messi’s was far from easy, look how little space he had to aim for. From where he was, to get it up and over the keeper with enough pace before the keeper got back was phenomenal. Very few footballers in the world would even dream of taking the lob, never mind executing it to perfection. It’s genius like that that separates him from other players. Look at our very own Xabi. He makes scoring from the half way line look easy, but how many times do we see others try in vain.
Agree that the goal was blown out of proportion and that’s probably why so many were disappointed, but it was still an exceptional goal.
