    12,144.....ha Fooking Ha

    Everton v Werder Bremen
    Pre-Season 31st July 2007 20:00
Goodison Park Att: 12,144 Ref: C Foy Everton's only pre-season contest at Goodison ended in stalemate - but how that outcome was reached will still be something of a mystery to those fans who watched the game.

Just 48 hours after returning from their pre-season tour to Los Angeles, David Moyes' side looked fresh, vibrant and eager to impress against their German guests.

Mikel Arteta provided some moments of magic, Phil Neville was as forward-thinking and adventurous as he has ever been in an Everton jersey and Everton were by far the stronger side on the night.

Ok, so the peoples club face European Oposition at Woodison for their only home pre-season fixture...and that's the attendnace. You're damaging the image of Football on Merseyside...Get out of OUR City and stay out!!!

Saw that meself and had a quiet chuckle.

I also had to laugh at an article in The Daily Post today where by the KEIOC (Keep Everton In Our City) group have a plan B which involves upgrading Woodison to 57,000 with the potential to rise to 70,000 !!!!

maybe they should have a max of 15,000 and an option to down grade to 10,000 that way they will increase their season tickets

Like the look of 33,000 in a stadium that fits 70,000. Like putting your dick in a wellie....

I was slightly concerned to hear that Lieghton Baines was one of the 12,144

Like David Villa was in our crowd over Xmas..............prolly just meeting up with some mates

even if Baines is thinking of joining them ( knowing he is on our list) I am sure the pathetic attendance will make him think twice

                Peoples Club........... My Arse
Lawrenson:"Well thats 3 good chances they have had in the first 3 minutes of this half"

Motson:"" Yes Mark, you could almost say that they have had 3 chances in as many minutes"

Lawrenson: Errr I thought I just did say that, John"

                    I read this on Soccernet....

Tim Cahill underwent an X-ray on Tuesday night after the midfield talisman limped off in the 2-2 friendly draw at home to Werder Bremen.

The Australian, recently recovered from a broken metatarsal, was forced off during the match but assistant boss Alan Irvine insisted it was merely a precaution.

'He felt his foot which is a bit of a worry,' he told evertonTV.

'It is something we will check out and Tim will have an X-ray this evening.

'I have just been speaking to him now and he feels a lot better. It obviously gave him a bit of a fright about but we will just make sure he is ok.

'I thought he played well in the time he was on tonight.'

The German side went ahead through Boubacar Sanogo and then Per Mertesacker made it 2-0, both goals coming in the first half.

Everton responded through James McFadden and Anderson de Silva
