This will end badly.

I cannot see someone like Keane - who as we know sets exceptionally high standards for himself and others - being able to accept working with such a horrible mediocre bunch of players. And of course he lacks managerial experience lets not forget.

Maybe I'm underestimating his patience, but I'm pretty sure I'm not.

I'm far from being a fan of Keane. Apart from being an ex Manc I consider his a traitor in the football world. On the other hand I like Quinn and hope he gets success.

Everything is relative though. Even though Keane will expect high standards he has to be realistic and not expect Premier league standards. I expect him to weed out the dross and bring in championship standard players.

That's my point. Does he know what a championship standard player is, and more importantly can he coach them effectively?

I can just picture him sitting on the bench, looking like his head is just about to explode after Jon Stead misses a sitter for the umpteenth time, or Tommy Miller passes it into row X again. I think it will drive him crazy.

To be fair, he only signed the contract after that match so I doubt he had any input. Perhaps they should sack him now they're on a winning streak. :D

I was happy with today. Sunderland to win by 2 goals paid me nicely at 9/1.

I wouldn't be surprised if he got them promoted. I wonder though: I've always got the impression that he was a bit of a thick bastard. How will that work out?

The top managers are all smarter than the average bear. It's the era of Rafa, Jose, and Wenger. Slur Alex is a dinosaur in that respect. It's hard to imagine Roy Keane setting up a team and out-thinking a Rafa. The days when a manager can just scream and threaten players to win the big prizes is past.

Then again, he might not turn out to be as daft as I think.:D

I have to disagree with the majority of views regarding Roy Keane, I actually thik the man will be a success at Sunderland and wouldn't be too surprised to see them reach the play-offs. ok he's a ex manc ok he's a thug but he's also a winner a man who doesn't tolerate failure with a will to win that epitomises everything about him. ever since i first saw him at the age of 19 playing for forest. he has a good footballing brian and will have learned under messr's clough and whiskey nose but he's also his own man.

He will do well with Sunderland as the standard of football is shit. Just shouting and kicking off will work in the lower leagues but once he takes over at a higher level he will be lost as you have to use your brain to out wit the opposition, not just frighten your own players. Souness Mark 2.
