I'm a bit relieved Chelsea are not going to pay that ridiculous price, would not have been good for the transfer system.
If it means they have given up on Alves then im happy
Juliano Belletti has signed a three-year deal with Chelsea to complete his move to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona.
Jose Mourinho turned to full-back Belletti after the Premier League club failed to strike a deal for Daniel Alves.
Sevilla had rejected Chelsea's recent bid for Alves, prompting Mourinho to move for the right-back's compatriot.
Belletti slipped out of Frank Rijkaard's first-team plans at Camp Nou, with Gianluca Zambrotta currently preferred by Barca.

"It has all been a great surprise," said Belletti, who has joined for an undisclosed fee.
"Just yesterday I talked with Chelsea. We reached an agreement and so did Chelsea and Barcelona with no problem.
"Everyone's happy - me, Barcelona and most importantly Chelsea.
"I know a bit about what the Premier League is like. I know it's a tough league but I'm coming here with plenty of ambition and desire. I want to win trophies."

Most probably thought Alves was to much then they went for Belletti so fill the gap until they go for Richards next summer

If Richards becomes available then I expect Rafa to make everything he can to get him and I think he would move to us rather than to Chelsea.

He will have a big prize and im sure Chelski will out bid us, therefore thats us gone.
City will ask for as much as possible and cant see them taking a lower offer form us

I don't think Chelsea can outbid us anymore, at least not in the way they have done. Rafa would probably be able to sign him now even if the price would be £30m.
From what I have heard Rafa would be able to sign Alves for the price Sevilla want for him but that he won't pay way over the odds for him.

hes been injured a lot, at least they werent stupid enough to pay 28 mill for Alves!
Always looked distinctly average to me, I was afraid they were actually going to get a good full back in for once
