Watched the Arsenal vs Sevilla game tonight and they played some great stuff. In recent times their back four have looked a bit shakey at times which has meant they haven't played as well going forward as they can.
The two fullbacks ( Sagna and Clichy ) look very solid in particular, i for one think people are wrong to dimiss the threat they pose this term, thoughts?

i dont think they ahve the squad to cope on all 4 fronts. That sagna looks another quality find by wenger
I hate to say that they've been impressive.

It's very difficult to say really. On the one hand, they have quite a thin squad in terms of needing to cope with the demands of Europe and the long league season, as well as lacking a bit of steel which can hurt them on the road at times. On the other hand, Wenger has built a team of players who fit perfectly into a highly effective system. If they don't suffer many injuries and can regain something approaching the kind of mentality they had during the unbeaten season, then they will be strong contenders. Anything from 1st to 4th wouldn't surprise me. The top 4 will be a fair bit closer together on points this season.
they have looked good, but still think some of their team is distinctly average. Tonight I dont think :
Almunia
Sendros
Flamini
Clichy
would make any of the other top 3's teams. But I suppose, Wenger does get average players to play out of their skins. But I must say I',m not too sure about Sagna.
However, Fabregras, what a player/

I'm just thinking that they've started well and tonights performance showed they're full of confidence. Lots of people write them off for the league but i'm not convinced they wont have a say in it.

Clichy is the best left back in the league, extremely underrated by anyone other than Arsenal fans. He's fast as fuck and a better all around player than A. Cole.
They have a good side, really stepped up to fill the void of Henry, maybe it took the pressure off them after they were ruled out so easily at the start of the season.
I still don't think they have the depth to handle a long season, their first team is great but a few injuries could really hinder them.
They can be contenders if Fabregas and Toure can stay fit.

still not sure about Clichy, saw him tonight and didnt think he was the best lb in the league. Will keep an eye out on his progres as a few people on here seem to rate him/.

great result for em tonight. but everyone seems to have been heaping praise on them after the spurs game, but did anyone see the full game? arsenal were very lucky not to concede 4. we'll see after a few more tough away games. they look great at the emirates
They tend to struggle in November, so there's hope.

Hmmmm, a lot depends on Fabregas that's for sure.
I think they'll get gubbed by the big boys (LFC, SCUM, Chavs).

Agree about Clichy.Cesc is there talisman and it will be interesting to see how they do if he picks up an injury. They have a better squad than people think.Eduardo will be a great signing yet and Diaby and Denilson have very good futures ahead of them. This years league is there for the taking and it would'nt shock me if they won.

They beat the mancs twice last year and us once and drew with Chelsea.
Like us the have away problems and especially against horrible tough dirty teams like Blackburn etc.

They just need to come up north and wait for a good kicking.
Look at the teams that could beat them away from home:
Us, Bitters, Chavs (not North of Arsenal), Scum, Barcodes, Pie Eaters, Mackems, Citeh, Villa and possibly Wigan

As i have said in a previous thread its all well playing good in the sun and in August/Sept wait till the harsh winter comes in and see how they play plus African Nations is like Arsenal on tour in Africa, they will loose alot of players

Missing Toure will be a big blow for them. We don't really have any worries with the African Nations Cup.
January and February will be two key months for us and Man U with Chelsea and Arsenal missing a few players.

tbh honest the lack of squad can be overhyped. Utd won the league without too many injuries last year, and all of Arsenal's players are young and could realistically play without problems all year
If Fabregas gets injured my fantasy team will be fucked. :D
I went for Ronaldo and Gerrard instead of Cesc:shake:

true, it is the first time I've picked a mancand I do feel the shame. If it is any consolation, Ronaldo has been shit so far and got sent off...

Double entrades. Fun-ny! :haha:

I'd go with that. I think Arsenal may lack a leadership figure in the crunch times, I don't rate Gallas in this regard and Silva while leading exceptionally well by example doesn't seem to motivate the rest of the team as well as some. Having said that it is difficult to judge the mentality of young players as they are still developing and the lack of fear shown by players like Fabregas might be what they need now they more responcibility after Henry's departure.
Flamini seems to have finally made teh step up whihc has given them a valuable option in midfield in terms of moving the attack forward quickly from the back.
The Christmas period will be even more key than usual this season if you ask me. The biggest weakness of Arsenal is definitely their strength in depth. If they can get through the fixture congestion at the turn of the year with a full complement of players and in contention they will be top 2 in my opinion.
