Very sad news. He is an absolute legend and I hope that he makes a speedy recovery.

One of the few genuine good guys. Hope he gets better.
This is really sad but one thing is for sure Bobby is a fighter and if anyone can get over this, it's him.
So many great stories involving bobby.

Too right. My favourite being the Ameobi one.
Journalist: "So Shola, do you have a nickname at the club?"
Ameobi: "Not really no."
"What do the lads call you?"
"Shola."
"What does Bobby Robson call you?"
"Carl Cort."
:haha: :haha: :haha:

Yes that's a good one. Also his paranoia at Mexico 86.
All the players ate together at a buffet everyday.
Bobby was getting horendous stick in the press after the team lost to no-hopers Portugal and then drew 0-0 with whipping boys Morocco. He was paranoid about sabotage.
Anyway, in 86 a popular song was "the heat is on" and it became an anthem for Terry Butcher and Chris waddle. In Mexico it was searingly hot all the time.
So Butch and waddle are in the queue waiting to be served and bobby is ahead of them. They start singing quietly under their breath "the heat is on".
Bobby runs over to the radiators shouting "the heaters are on, the heaters are on!".
:haha:
the hospital have said the one sided loss of movement is as a result of swelling on the brain following surgery [this swelling is part of the immune system response to the invasive nature of the surgery & therefore will subside]
they are hopefull sir bob will regain his sensation & movement on the effected side when the swelling subsides
YNWA Bobby - hope he makes a full recovery.
Lot of time for him.
Feared the worst when i saw this thread.

He's a legend a a genuinely nice guy - hope he recovers.
Good luck Bobby. What a legend.
btw "Shola" translates to "scrotum" in Panjabi
My fav Bobby story is this one.
Sir Bobby is signing copies of his autobigraphy in a bookstore in Newcastle. A kid patiently queues for ages to get his book signed. When he gets to the front of the queue Sir Bobby asks him his name and starts to sign his copy....
Kid: "So, have you signed a lot of books today Mr Robson."
Sir Bobby: "Hundreds son, absolutely hundreds."
Outside the shop the kid opens his copy of the book to read what the legend has written............"To Jimmy, Best Wishes From Bobby Hundreds."!!!!
Get well soon Bobby!!!
