Enduring a dire run at the moment with a number of recent accas falling at the last hurdle. I'm planning on a get out of jail bet tomorrow with a rather large stake on a treble in the lower Scottish leagues.

My selections (based on league tables and recent results) are:

Cowdenbeath to beat Peterhead
Greenock Morton to beat Alloa
Stenhousemuir to beat Elgin City

The treble is a shade more than 2/1 and a good fat bet on that will recover my losses in the last week or so. Please somebody reassure me that this bet is a good thing!

It's fairly safe - Elgin are nearly aways good for beefing up an accy.

Cowdenbeath can be a bit erractic, though they'll be fine at home.

Don't really track any of these teams 'cept for Elgin cause i know a few folk that run/ran the club. Oh, and once had the badger helmet on me at a wedding function. Cheers, Kev.

Yeah I noticed Cowdenbeath have been winning 5-0 then losing 5-0!

Elgin actually beat Stenhousemuir recently but that was in the Cup at home. Away they'll surely lose.

You are now going to make two of the biggest mistakes what you can do in sport betting.

1. Never try to win back your losses by putting bigger stake than usually to the next bet.

2. Never place bet to matches wherefrom you don't have enought knowledge.

Its better to put a bigger stake on a treble than a very small stake on a 6/7 team accy.

Your selections seem fine. Cowdenbeath are unpredictable though and are maybe a slight concern. Peterhead are a better team than the league table shows and are capable of getting a point. Hopefully ul be ok though

After much consideration I've decided to take a watching brief and leave this alone. I'll wait until the international fixtures in midweek to make my killing. :D

a mate of mine uses the theory that in the scottish lower leagues the away teams only turn up about half an hour before kick off so only ever does homes dunno how accurate that is but might explain the winning 5-0 one week getting beat 5-0 the week after

eh Falkirk are much, much better than Cowdenbeath.

However, it's hard to argue against betting against homes. Especially with some of the referring up here.

Bit too chancy to have a fat wedge on!

Just had a big fat wedge on Argentina "draw no bet" at even money! There you go, I've cursed it.

Some good betting opportunities at the US Open. I had a winning bet overnight (didn’t post it here so as not to curse it, and see if I could break my losing streak – it worked!) which was Boca Juniors (4/7), Serena Williams (4/6) and James Blake (4/11). Only about 2/1 for the treble but a good £50 stake recovered a good chunk of my losses from over the last week.

The first set of games at Flushing Meadow get underway at around 4-ish and there are some decent opportunities. The 3rd and 4th rounds probably represent the last chances of “easy pickings”.
