Thats more than Kuyt will get in the season.
Just confirms that last season wasn't a lucky one.
He isn't even 100% match fit yet.
Who's this Alfonso dude anyway?

Brazilian dude, scored something like 35 in 30 odd games last season.

Yeah, didn't he score three or four hat-tricks too last year??

He is so un Brazilian. Big, oafy and god awfully slow. Great goal scorer mind, wouldn't suit the Prem IMO

If some player can get 35 in 30 and 7 in 1 in any pro league in europe then its worth taking the risk on him

We took a risk on Kuyt, that worked well, didnt it?
Did Kuyt score 35 in 30 games?

Kuyt scored 30 goals in Holland, not sure in how many
7 in 1 match though :jaw: seen him play for brazil, he's nothing special, fred of lyon is better

hmm yes, have heard good things about Fred, he seemed to struggle a bit when he first came to lyon, was loaned back to brazil and seemed to force his way back into the national team.

Dirk's record at Feyenoord 122 games 83 goals
It's a different league, I doubt Alves would make it here from what I have seen of him.

Seen the goals and holy shit there is some bad defending in that league.
Pennant would probably be the new Zidane if he played over there.
all his goals 34 in 31 games i believe, amazing free kicks and cracking finishing, great video i also have it in better quality if anyone is interested...

What the fuck was that keeper doing? He needs investigating for match fixing. That was embarrassing. :shake:

It really is isn't it?:shake:
The dutch league may not be any good but he has still scored more than a goal a game.
That is very impressive.

you can only beat what's put infront of you. But it is interesting that no one took the plunge to sign him in the summer.

He reminds me of our very own Sanders Westerfeldt, by fuck he used to give the ball a fookin good "stare" as it flew passed him.

If I remember rightly it was only Boro that actually showed any concrete interest. Part of the reason though was the fee they wanted which would have put most teams off as he does represent somewhat of a gamble.
On to keep an eye on though defnitely, but he doesnt seem a Rafa type player.
I think Houllier scouted him when he played for Malmö.
actually Sky Sports news just showed his goals. Apparently his club wanted 13mill for the guy and no one bit at that price so he went off on strike. This game was only his second of the season!
