they would crawl out smelling of Roses. They have managed to avoid all the semi-big guns and picked up a cushy UEFA cup draw, the way we are playing we could end up playing against this shit in the UEFA Cup later stages.
That whole UEFA Cup group stage is a fucking joke though. 3 teams out of 5 qualify so you have to be REALLY shite not to make it. You don't even play each team home and away. And even after that, you have to play God knows how many more two legged knockout games to get to the final.
UEFA have put all their eggs in one Champions League sized basket and devalued what was once a great cup competition.

I'm just praying we don't end up in it. If the CL gets to a point where we’re fighting for 3rd or 4th in the group, I’ll feel like cheering for the other team – which will be wrong and weird, but I’d rather stick pins in my eyes than see us in the UEFA Cup. Great in 2001, but I like to think we’ve moved on a little since then FFS.

The Uefa cup was once a great cup, which i would quite happly watch...now...i dont understand what goes on and barely recognise any of the teams...uefa have royely screwed it over

You can't really pick a winner until the CL is decided.
Any team in that would stand a great chance of winning it.

At least the further they get in the UEFA cup the more their squad will eb stretched, thus (hopefully) havign an effect on their league form.

Mind you, it's not like we got the hardest CL draw is it? And we're possibly only one more bad result away from a quick exit.
