Atletico Madrid concerns over Aguero contract
tribalfooball.com - October 28, 2007
Atletico Madrid plan to re-write Sergio Aguero's contract at the end of this season.
The Argentine striker is tied to Atletico until 2011, but with a buyout clause of £22 million, the Spanish giants fear losing the player to a bigger club if they do not act.
Atletico plan to hand Aguero a bumper pay-rise, plus a hike in his buyout clause, to ward off the attentions of European rivals such as Juventus and Barcelona.
I don't think he's good enough for us.
I don't think he's good enough for us.
Mate he is more than good enough for us.
he is exactly what we need as a partner for Torres.
This kid can seriously play

Maybe Rafa will make a bid now when he can afford him. Atletico outbid us the last time.
It also helps that he is a Liverpool supporter.

I have partnered him with Torres in PES2008 and I can confirm it works brilliantly :handshake:

Buy him up, he's the kind of player we need, super talented and has played with Torres
If Rafa signed him he'd be played out of position or he'd get some bench time whilst the 'creative genius' that are Kuyt and Crow play.
I don't think he's good enough for us.
ahahahahahhahahaahah
if dross like kuyt and voronin get in then how the hell cant one of the brightest prospects in world football get in?
No idea how much money we've got, but if that's true we should just cough up the £22m and buy the fucker. He's a class act and God knows we need one to play off Torres.

He would take over Momo's position
good goal, good technique.
A question put to Tim Vickery on the beeb's website:
What do you think of Sergio Aguero and how important do you think he will be for Argentina and how will he develop in the future?
A truly sensational little striker - the wonderful two goals he scored last week for Atletico Madrid in the Uefa Cup reinforced my view that he's the closest thing I've seen to Romario - terrific lower body strength, pace and skill in tight spaces, cool finishing and can link the play too.
He obviously has a huge future with the senior Argentina side. He's in the squad though he's not yet first choice.
In the recent World Cup qualifiers the best things I saw from the Argentina attack was when he came on against Chile - I thought he linked up with Messi better than Tevez had been doing.
It's not often £22m is a cheap price for a player but in this case it's. Atletico will never be able to hold on to him if he want a move.

Im not sure we would shell out that kind of cash on him to be honest, although we did on Torres so you never know. He is a Liverpool fan though! :respect:

I don't think he's good enough for us.
But you think Kuyt is.
Laughable.
But then it's all about opinions isn't it? Even though that's a complete kop out.

Sell Sissoko, Kuyt and Pennant. That should just about cover it, or come close.
I'd happily sell my soul to see us sign some genuine class like this lad for a change, instead of a whole host of nearly men which were are now accustomed too.

I could live with our four strikers being Torres, Aguero, Crouch and Babel.
We could raise £22milion very easily in the transfer window.
For £22m its a price we can afford now.

I dont think we're going to be splashing 20+ on a striker even if we sell one in january.
Juventus to include Tiago in Aguero offer
tribalfooball.com - October 31, 2007
Juventus have made contact with Atletico Madrid about a January deal for Argentine youngster Sergio Aguero.
The striker's current buyout clause is set at £22 million and Tuttosport says Juve are ready to make a player-plus-cash bid for the youngster.
Juve are prepared to offer £16 million plus midfielder Tiago for Aguero when the winter market opens.

Fluke
12 million plus Sissoko ??
He'd be a great signing for us ... And a Liverpool fan as well !!
I would be devestated if he went to Juve.
Horrible club
I would be surprised if Rafa don't make a bid.
The reasons.
He has the money to sign him.
He has tried to sign him before.
He is the type of player we need upfront.
We would have a great chance to get him because of Garcia and that he is a Liverpool fan.
His wages wouldn't be sky high.
We would get the money back without any problem if he can't adapt.
It's a no risk signing.
But you think Kuyt is.

Fredo always talks sense mate, don't you know that?!

Inter Milan to offer £15M for Atletico Madrid striker Aguero
tribalfootball.com - November 06, 2007
Inter Milan are planning to bid for Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero in January.
The Argentina international is a target for Juventus, but Sport says Inter president Massimo Moratti will offer £15 million in January for the young forward.
Atletico are adamant that Aguero is not for sale and are already in talks with his representatives about hiking up his buyout clause from the current £22 million.
Agüero Will Not Be Going To Italy - Cerezo Atlético de Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has stated that there is no chance that Sergio Agüero will leave, despite reported interest from Inter.
Los Colchoneros' supremo was adamant that the Argentinian starlet would become one of the world's best players and that he would achieve that with Atleti.
Interest from Inter and links to other clubs cuts no ice with Cerezo and believes that Agüero is settled in the Spanish capital and will stay with the club for many years.
"Agüero is an Atlético player and will be for many years. Besides, he prefers Madrilenian food to spaghetti," he joked.
"The things about him is there is a feeling. He is very happy in Madrid and although Italy is not far away, the difference between the two countries is huge.
"Here he knows that he will have no prblems, so it is better that he stays calm and continues what he is doing; playing and scoring goals."
Cerezo was then asked about Agüero's buy-out clause and he was confident that it is high enough and that the club's fans need not worry.
"I think economics is being focussed on too much when we shold be talking about sport," he continued.
"We signed Agüero because we felt he was a little different from the rest and we produced a contract that was in line with that and of course we will not let him go.
"He is a marvellous player and is on his way to becoming one of the best in the world and he can do that here."
Finally, Cerezo reflected on the criticism the club received when Agüero was signed last year and was quick to point out that he always had faith.
"Nobody remembers now, but I assured everyone a year ago that Agüero was a genius and would be a big star one day," he stated.
"He needed a season to adapt and now we are seeing how much he is enjoying his football.
"He has completely won me over because he has not lost his innocenceas he was able to win the Under-20 World Championships and then still go back to playing Playstation games. He is special because he never stops smiling."

Such was Aguero's talent, it was never necessary to whore himself around anywhere.

"I know all the players in the current Liverpool squad. I would be proud if Benitez tried to sign me. It would be an honour.
The league I've most liked since I was a kid is the Premiership. I always watch it on TV.
If I had to choose from all the different leagues that I've been linked to I would go for the English one, no question.
I've always been a Liverpool fan and it would be a dream to play there."
