Ok, here you go;

Kirkland near to Wigan switch
----------------------------

The England hopeful is training with The Latics on Tuesday as the finishing touches are put to his switch to The JJB Stadium.

Kirkland is due to join up with Paul Jewell's men on an initial six-month loan deal, with a view to a permanent transfer.

It is expected that the 25-year-old will be confirmed as a Wigan player after the close of Tuesday's training session.

I visited the Newsnow site earlier and practically every single LFC story was to do with Cisse going or not going. Though there was also a sad bit (from the official site) about Phil Taylor, Shankly's predecessor, losing his wife.

I see there are bits about Kirkland now though, which is a good move for him and us - either he comes back a much-improved injury-free player after 6 months or they BUY that much-improved injury-free player.

It is pretty quiet though - are they even going to have a press conference for our recent signings?

They usually try and do one big press conference every summer don't they - were they parade the new signing.

Cynics amongst us would see this as yet another cost cutting exercise.... ;)
