I have met him a few times - One on one he is a prick, more than one person and he acts like his TV persona - Moaning and with a big chip on his shoulder.
I can recall a function at the Reebok and I was with some people form the RBS one of whom was a very tanned blonde bird, who was pretty good looking. Fat Sam came over after he had finished with some journalists, and started to try and chat her up. She was having none of it and in a polite way, told hime where to get off.
Fat Sam, then wanders over to the the same group of Journo's he was talking to previously and in earshot of the whole group, started mouthing off lies about this young girlie. Needless to say this poor girl is in tears and quite a few of the RBS Group and a few of the journos had a pop at him.
The fat git never apologised and actually thought he was being humerous.

Saw him in Manchester one lunchtime and a youngish kid asked him for his autograph, Fat Sam responded with F**k off.

Pretty much sums up the prick if you ask me - No class
