    Rooney in 'threesome' punch-up

    Didn't see this posted anywhere else so don't know if you've seen it;

England star Wayne Rooney reportedly punched another Premiership footballer for asking if his fiancée was up for a "threesome".

The incident between Rooney and Blackburn's Michael Gray happened at the upmarket Panacea Bar and Restaurant in Manchester on Saturday night.

The 20-year-old Manchester United striker was with fiancée Coleen McLoughlin and three other couples, all long-standing close friends of the pair.

According to the Sun, Gray wandered over, apparently under the influence of alcohol, and exchanged words with Rooney.

Rooney warned Gray to leave him and his friends alone, but Gray then suggested he and Rooney have a threesome with Coleen.

This prompted Rooney, while still seated, to punch him, giving him a black eye, it is claimed.

A spokesman for Rooney said: "Wayne and Coleen were enjoying a night out with three other couples and were having a quiet dinner when Michael came up to their table uninvited.

"Michael then began making a number of remarks which were offensive to Coleen and Wayne's other female guests.

"Several times, Wayne asked Michael to leave. It was a brief incident and as far as Wayne is concerned, he bears no ill-feeling towards Michael."

Rooney has worked hard to try to curb the excesses of his temper, which he has admitted in the past has caused him problems.

The former Everton star is currently suspended from club duty and has only just completed an international ban for his dismissal during England's World Cup quarter-final defeat to Portugal.

It is understood Gray, who won three caps for England in 1999, has offered a full version of events to Blackburn boss Mark Hughes, himself a former United player.

Inspector Dave Sacks of Greater Manchester Police said: "We know nothing about it."

Rooney probably replied to Gray's offer with 'only if you bring your gran along', to which Gray declined, so Rooney punched him!

£12. Might have to purchase it this weekend.

The FA should ban him for three more games

It's true. A lad who runs the mortgage side of my business, Steve, is a Man U fan () but he knows Mickey Gray really well through his neighbour who runs a car valeting business which does a lot of cars for players who live in Manchester. Steve's been Gray's guest at Ewood Park with his mate quite a few times and says he always gets tanked up after a match. His drinking was the reason he was bombed out of Sunderland apparently.

Steve's mate runs Gray round Manchester (where he lives) 'cos he's lost his licence through drink driving and he was with him last Saturday night when Rooney snotted him. Being a United fan his mate tried to intervene and smooth it over but Gray kept making a **** of himself and he said he deserved everything he got. :whatever:

I can't stand Rooney as a player but you wouldn't mess with the lad would you?!

Ironically the mortgage side of our business uses the trading style Panacea ("a cure all solution") but unfortunately we've got nothing to do with the Panacea Bar in Manchester!
