Imagine letting 7 in against a shithouse team like the bitters

To be fair he's got an absolute shite defence in front of him. He was left exposed every time the blueshite went forward by the look of things on MOTD.

Can't really blame the keeper for Sunderland's lack of a defence.

Just watching MOTD now. Some of Sunderlands defending is amature at best.

He'll be at Arsenal next season anyhow :source:

WTF? He is indeed worth every penny. I can only assume you've never even seen him and are in fact talking out of your arse. The defense was to blame. He has been great this season.

What a stupid thread.

Don't know mate. Can't see Wenger buying British for a while. He hasn't had much luck with home grown lads.

McShanes performance reminded me of Gary Breens performance for West Ham against Manure in the FA Cup :haha:

Gordon is the only good player they signed during the Summer. The rest are no better than Championship standard.

He has over paid on average players, Keane still has alot to learn

He arguably came after the summer but Jones is a decent PL striker IMO and he is young enough to develop. I'd agree about the rest.

I'm never sure how you should judge an expensive keeper for a lower league team. He is obviously a great shot stopper and his personal decisions have in the few whole games I've seen also good. However the Sunderland defense has often looked horrifically disorganised and along with concentrating when you have little to do I would say organising those around them is what defines a really top class keeper. Obviously it is hard to tell if the shear crapness of the defenders is not the root cause in this instance.

Still would you spend £8m on a keeper rather than defenders in that situation?

I'm not a believer in the "we can't know because he is always busy debate" Concentration is only 1 of a load of attributes needed by akeeper and IMO, MOST of the attributes are tested the busier they are. He's been pretty good for Scotland too and hasn't been very busy...

Keane does judging by their team sheet today.

:jaw:

That's a bit harsh methinks. The lad from what I seen has been steady enough, made a few clangers but also made some cracking saves.

£9m record fee then dropped three months later :eyebrow:
