Surprises of the PL season so far

For me the quality of Man City's football under Sven. I thought he would do well but imagined he would base success on strength at the back and counter attacks. His signings have gelled well right from the start.

Avram Grant. He's done well. Chelsea are playing more attractive football but are still hard to beat and he has got Sheva contributing again.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

        Martin Petrov at Man City.
        Roque Santa Cruise at Blackburn

Two signings we'd have turned our noses up at had we signed them in the summer but have both proven to be excellent signings.

Possibly the biggest surprise of the season though has been Arsenal. Reading the press at the start of the season you'd have thought they were still in the process of rebuilding and that Spurs [] would be taking 4th spot in the league.

          Man City's attractive attacking play.

          Arsenal's good form.

That Southgate still has a job.

Sven is a good club manager and with right resources behind him will continue to do well. Man City could break in to the top 4 IF one of them loses their way substantially.

Portsmouth have continued to do well, Harry Redknapp certainly knows how to buy players and gel them in to a team, it's a shame he wasn't considered for England.

Players wise Elano has been superb, Santa Cruz has picked up the slack from Macarthy at Blackburn and begrudgingly i give kudos to Anderson at Man Yoo who has settled in very well.
            We come not to play.

The sun shining out of Arsene Wneger's backside. At least according to the media it is.
