The richest club in the world signs another player

Sebastian Rusculleda is looking forward to joining Queens Park Rangers after receiving an 'irresistible' offer from the Championship club.

The 22-year-old winger currently plays for Tigre, who recently won promotion to the Argentine top flight.

But he insists he could not turn down the chance to play in England, and is now set to travel to London on Tuesday to finalise his transfer.

"Everything happened very fast and this is a chance that I can't let go as playing in English football isn't something that happens every day," Rusculleda told his homeland press.

"This is thanks to Tigre having such an excellent campaign in the Argentine domestic league.

"We got promoted to Argentina's Premier Division in June 2007 and in December we were the vice champions.

"I had said to the officials of Tigre that I would only accept an offer from a team from abroad because what had been offered in Argentina wasn't good and I would have preferred to stay at Tigre.

"But when the offer from Queens Park Rangers arrived I had no doubts."

    Seduced

Rusculleda is not familiar with QPR but is excited about the prospect of playing at Championship level.

He explained: "I don't know too much about the team. I know they are not having a very good season but they are in the second most important division in England and that is good for my career because at any moment things can start to go better.

"The chance of playing in England seduced me from the first moment."

QPR are currently 18th in the Championship but coach Luigi De Canio has wasted no time in bringing in new players during the transfer window.

He has already clinched deals for Fitz Hall, Patrick Agyemang, Hogan Ephraim, Akos Buzsaky, Matthew Connolly, Gavin Mahon and Kieran Lee, while Stefan Postma could also join if ADO Den Haag sanction the move.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

There's always a club that makes a late run and squeezes into the playoffs. Could be them.

Only nine points off 6th, 20 games left, and anyone can beat anyone in that league.

          Guess what?

          Yes, they signed another one.

QPR complete signing of Birmingham striker Vine
          tribalfooball.com - January 08, 2008

QPR have completed the permanent signing of Birmingham City striker Rowan Vine.

The 25-year-old, who spent three months on loan at Loftus Road earlier this season, has penned a four-and-a-half year contract with the west Londoners.

"As soon as I was informed that a permanent deal could be on the cards, I was absolutely delighted," Vine told qpr.co.uk.

"I thoroughly enjoyed my loan spell here and in the first few days of the transfer window the club have made their intentions clear with the quality they have already brought in."

Vine becomes the eighth new signing brought in by boss Luigi de Canio who, bankrolled by co-owners Flavio Briatore, Bernie Ecclestone and the recent investment by the billionaire Mittal family, has spent an estimated £4m in eight days.

"This is clearly the place to be and when you see new players come through the door so quickly, you know the people at the very top mean business," added Vine.

"After my first month here, Flavio Briatore spoke to me and said they were keen to make the deal a permanent one. He told me that he wants to build a big project to get into the Premier League and he wanted me to be involved."
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Vine will be a great signing for them IMO. He has the finishing that a decent passing side needs in the Championship. A lot of more creative side suffer from playing well but not having a cutting edge at that level, when I have seen him (not all that often to be fair) Vine has looked a good predatory forward.

If they get in the Prem, we'll see more action

                Ps. Who owns QPR now?

It's a cheap investment though. They will put under £10m in this season and see gates rise and probably at least get to the play offs - which will double the income of QPR I suspect. They have a stadium sufficient for their likely middle term aims and in London sponsorship money is easier to come by. So it makes much more sense to invest their as we need probably £20m+ next transfer window plus the stadium and with wages moving us on level could be enormously expensive or take a long time.

QPR are a much more fun play thing for the rich as they will get the ego boost of the transformation.
